I'm half joking, half serious when I say this but.. do we need name tags?? I was expecting maybe 10 of us at a push but the amount of people saying theyre going to this is mental! 40+ is looking a real possibility.
Yes it is Tramore. He is from Bologna. I met him again in the airport when I went for the Barnsley match. He came to the C&S to say hello. He makes his own QPR scarves.
It's a good job that it was decided to move the meet from Graig to KK the town would not have been able to cope with the numbers.....it is beginning to take on epic proportions..... To use a DT'ism....Good Skills Lads.....
We are expecting at least 10 people from Indy R's. That's all down to Inky and Steve Russell. Steve has promoted the meet extensively on Indy R's and Inky has been on there communicating with them all. Steve also got the article in the Barnsley programme. A lot of the credit goes to Nuts as well for choosing Kilkenny. The location is obviously attractive to a lot of people coming from all over the country ie. it isn't too far from anywhere and the city itself is very pleasant. As you say Tramore, just as well we moved it or our cars would have clogged the streets of Graiguenamanagh. The poor farmers wouldn't have had anywhere to park their tractors.
with all the people staying down I'm looking at b+b's myself, could be a great night. if I find a local one I'll stay. I'll let you know soon.
Lads, a long, long time ago when the idea of the Irish R's meeting up was first mooted and you where having long debates about the when and the where, I cheekily suggested that you would never get more than 5 of you in the same place at the same time....bloody hell, you've taken the challenge up! Not only this gathering of the clans but the increasingly regular trips en masse to LR..... Simply outstanding. If I could make it I'd get a round in, after getting a second mortgage of course.
I have to be in Tallaght early on the Monday morning. How long would it take me to get there from Kilkenny? I'm thinking of making a weekend of it.
With traffic, an hour and a half most. It is possible to do it in an hour. Turn off the M7 at Citywest and it brings you in by Jobstown in West Tallaght. Had Richard Dunne invited you to his old house for a cuppa?
ok ladies and gents I've booked a room in fanad house on castle st. it's €45 b+b and only 15 min walk from breathnachs and less than 10 min from the city centre.
Will you sub me the return fare from Japan where I'll be working as well? The wife had already green lighted the Ireland trip too.......I'll be there for round 2.
I picked the location (no brainer) but Fingi suggested the pub and has created a focal point in the Springhill hotel. Hats off to you. Mrs Nuts is also now coming. That will seriously curtail my behaviour. I've still plenty of time to talk her out of it.
Fair play to you corker. I didn't think you were coming. We haven't kept a register of who's coming but we think there will be 30 people minimum. Anything over 20 would be great. It's not about the numbers. It is more about enjoying ourselves. The match kicks off at 12.15 so we should be meeting about 11.30 in Breathnachs. If anybody has any old programmes they don't want, please bring them along and we can let people help themselves. Nuts is going to check the various car parks in the city and post details in a few days.
Think I'll get the train up, there's one from Waterford at 11am and arrives in KK just after 11:30, the station is only a few minutes walk from the bar and means i can enjoy a few beers and not have to worry about drink/driving.....no brainer really. Looking forward to the day.....
Inky might give you a lift up Tramore and just get the train back later in the day?? Look forward to seeing you.
Depends on timing Fingi.....there are a couple of other lads doing the train as well and to be honest it's just as easy to get to station as it is to meet Inky
