I was just making the point that no-one should be appalled, or offended, or scared about moving a couple of miles to a different post code.
I'll be totally honest with you Stroller, I have a very biased view with Harlsden after my other half got mugged TWICE whilst heading to work to care for terminal patients. The second time left her devastated as he threatened to follow her home and rape her. IMO it's a **** hole!
Commiserations rrrrrrs, I know how you feel mate. My dear old mum has been mugged there twice too. I hope Mrs rrrrrrs has recovered from this horrific experience somewhat. The fact that your good lady was carrying out such commendable work compounds this heinous act even more.
I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your other half rrrrrs, but, sadly, that could have occurred almost anywhere. The new stadium, should it come to pass, will not be on the mean streets of Harlesden.
Nines, thanks mate she did get over eventually & moved to a different hospital. I hope your mother recovered from her experience. Stroller, your right it could of happened anywhere but it didn't, it happened there & because of that I'll always hate the place!
don't suppose you can make l.r any bigger? I hate when football clubs move away from there spiritual home, that area has rangers playing there for donkey s years. i.m.o that's where rangers belong, and a 40,000 stadium, how do you jump from a 18,000 seater to a 40,000 and make it work, the proof will be when west ham leave upton park and go to the stadium that I helped pay for lol
Stop talking nonsense Traveller. LR is long past it. It belongs to a bygone era. The sooner this project gets up and running the better.
I would prefer a full Loftus Road than a brand new soul less 40000 seater state of the art stadium that was less than half full, just my opinion and i know im in the minority
Cheers rrrrrs, my mum was also mugged ( twice ) and knocked to the ground on her way home from playing bingo close to the Clem Atlee Estate in Fulham. She's ok, she's old school. The Blitz spirit and all that. As for the police and their subsequent actions, that's another matter. It's not something that that I'd like to post on here. I sincerely wish you and your other half all the best.
I'm sorry Nines, and rrrrrs, but I don't understand what this has to do with the potential location of a new stadium?
My apologies Stroller. How about Harlseden is a ****hole. If we build a Stadium there then I won't be going.
You spoke to Tony twice Fingy!! And he actually understood you?? Good man. I hope you dropped the business card offering your services to be his official Limo Service when he gets his Dublin hotel up and running!
Is he building a hotel in Dublin? His chauffeur was waiting outside the c&s. I did mention that myself and Nathan had travelled from Ireland. If the team come over and play a friendly here next year, you know who to thank.
Im due to speak to Mel tionight...I'll see if i can confirm this for you Very close friend so will have an answer soon
We are the most moved club in the league, something like 14-16 stadium moves so we have been all over the place. So historically we are not moving away but its just that most people havent seen us move in their lifetime.
Totally agree with that point of view - it is all about tradition and we will never ever fill a 40 k seater. Never mind the ticket prices which will have to go up a lot and I do not believe that the majority of Rs will be able or willing to afford that.
