Just watching goal of the month on MOTD and there are some amazing goals in there. Wilshere's volley against Norwich with the brilliant flicks from him Cazorla and Giroud to set him up and Ramsey's messi like dribble and fake before finishing are in there. But the best one is the belter from Kasami for Fulham taking it on his chest and firing on the volley Van Basten style over the keeper and into the far corner. Some amazing quality in the premier league, it's a real pleasure to watch.
AVB is such a ******, how could he keep Lloris on? Even if the ****er says he's fine, you don't take the risk....Guess that's what separates the top like Wenger, from the pretenders, like AVB. The guy LOST CONSCIOUSNESS and they kept him on? Lol and AVB defending the decision, what a ****. Seriously desperate manager.
I think AVB left the decision to the doctor, but the doctor should have insisted that he came off. It's okay in hindsight for AVB and his teammates to laud him up as a hero for battling on, but he could have had a serious internal head injury and letting him make the decision to carry on was wrong. Lloris played well though and made a great save later on in the game.
Yeah, but we sort of did it with Flamini when he was concussed, we left him on until it was clear he was unable to play, so really Spurs are just copying our poor medical practices.
Flamini didn't lose consciousness, big difference. You're always going to get bumps, and sometimes you can shake it off, but getting knocked unconscious, and taking 10 minutes is a huge difference.
Laukaku was knocked out scoring for Everton a few weeks back but played on yet no one said anything about it...no fuss in the press...no radio phone ins about it and no one called Martinez a **** for not taking him off...so what's the difference? Is it worse cos Lloris is a keeper? Or is it worse cos one was on live TV and the other wasn't? Players have continued to play after head injuries before...players can get concussed without being knocked out so to be honest lots of whats being spouted is nonsense. Dr's who weren't there are passing judgement on Lloris being allowed to play on but had **** all to say last sunday when Townsend played on after being knocked out in the fall which damaged his wrist...publicity whores spring to mind Maybe to save all confusion EVERY head injury should result in an automatic substitution as the player could have a brain injury!
RCL makes a good point, are Tottenham being lambasted because the incident took place on live TV ? I think not but that's only my view, I think Cech has alot to do with this, his horrible head injury all them years ago means he still wears protection now and I think that's what people see, so the comparison with keepers is closer the truth. Once again the league should have rules in place as they do in NFL, any concussion and you're out and need a doctors report permitting you to return to training. And to those who say he had no concussion I'm sure I read somewhere today someone( claiming to be a medical expert) that it's impossible to be knocked unconscious without suffering concussion. AVB was wrong, very wrong, and his actions only confirm that there is little/no regard to players wellbeing at the top level. For the record, Martinez was wrong too, but life could be made easier for all if decisions were taken out of the managers hands......
I agree completely. very silly decision, and I was critical of Wenger attempting to let Flamini play on with his concussion as well. People need to realize how serious head injuries can be. It just isn't worth it. It sets a very bad example to young players and is potentially career ending both for the player and the manager/physio that allows him to play on. Quite frankly, I would think, with all the information on head injuries, there is also a fairly sound legal case for criminal negligence and/or malpractice, if something did happen.
Flamini was not unconscious, and we didn't know Flamini was concussed until AFTER you dumbass. Are you Spurs fans just thick on purpose? Or do you play to that role of being dumb just to annoy Arsenal fans? Football is a contact sport especially with headers, so heads will get bumped and knocked, you don't take a player off everytime they bump their head because most times they will be fine and it won't be serious, we had no reason to believe Flamini's head bump was very serious, the OTHER player involved carried on, but once Flamini came off and we got to assess him, we realised he was concussed. Now it doesn't take a genius to figure out that once a player goes unconcious and you need 10 minutes to get him back on the pitch, that it's not a good idea to play him. But you're Spurs, you're desperate, so obviously you'd play a player even after he went unconscious, desperate club, desperate team, and desperate manager. AVB looks like a right sack of **** if you ask me.
Ten minutes? How do you explain that there was only 9 minutes of injury time? It was probably six minutes at the most, three of which he spent convincing the medical staff and his team mates that he was fine to continue, so the actual injury was only three minutes. Obviously you'll use this as a 'have a dig at Spurs' moment, but I'm sure you didn't complain when Lukaku got knocked out scoring against West Ham a few weeks ago. It was a pretty similar incident, he was floored for a few minutes, had no memory of scoring the goal, yet continued to play the game a few minutes later. That didn't provoke any of this hysterical reaction from the PFA, Fifa, the media, or any other body now getting on their high horses.
Lukako don't play for Spurs does he? So who cares. AVB is desperate for keeping Lloris on, end of story. END OF.
It's relevant because that incident set a recent precedent for it being okay to continue playing after being knocked out momentarily from a head injury, without every Tom, Dick, Harry and hack jumping on your back calling it unsafe. It's also relevant because it demonstrates the double standards of fans, that they will deride their biggest rival for doing something wrong, but won't bat an eyelid when a lesser rival does exactly the same. That's really indicative of a strong moral compass, your outrage must be really genuine
And the only reason you care is it's an excuse to spew propaganda against a rival, nothing to do with the ethics, end of story, move on.
Only reason you're still here is because you can't admit your manager ****ed up. If Wenger did than A87 would defo be on his case about it BTW
