Very good half from us. I mean - sort of typical Spurs in a way but it's seems better when away at Goodision. Holtby stated brightly and, putting my AVB goggles on, I think his better harrying and tackling probably gets him in the team ahead of Eriksen right now. But he has to show bits of skill and neat passing too and he did that in the first 15 mins in particular.

Lennon is a little lost on the left, as he's always been. At one point he was in for a decent shot but he needed...a left foot. Remember when players on the left were left-footed?

Chiriches. I'm starting to feel like he's the sort of player who will make an incredible challenge one minute then something insane the next.

Sandro's been a beast, as usual and I'm liking Paulinho a lot more this game.

Physical? I thought that they struggled to deal with being closed down quickly and resorted to playing physically themselves.
Lots and lots of fouls, quite often several in the course of one move with the advantage being played.

Physicality strong, not dirty, we're a powerful physical side with lots of energy that closes down.

"Tottenham have edged it but we're goalless at half-time." - John Murray. Not sure who he is but according to the BBC he's at Goodison Park, did he turn up 35 minutes late?

The Operation Goodison message is played at every Everton home game, it's some sort of safety exercise to make sure all the exits are clear in case of an evacuation, Hillsborough's legacy.

Soldado is too obvious and too slow for games like this.

Has to be said - AVB has transformed our defence into an absolute unit. I'm a huge fan of Vlad too who has just saved our bacon.

Have to applaud the Goodison crowd.
Whenever Boo plays they always chant his name to the heavens.

Swap Soldado for Lakaku? ..... Or is this setup for a typical 1-0 to the Tottenham!

If Defoe was up front in the first half, we would have scored at least once. We are crying out for somebody to make runs into the box.

    GET INVOLVED VIA 81111
Ralph from North London: AVB took over a top-four team. Spent almost 200m since and I still can't see us qualify even for Europa League this season. All we need is a proper manager. Please come back Arry.

Is that HIAG on the Wum!

Distin did well to stop Paulinho there, but I still feel that the Brazilian could've got his shot off a little earlier.

The theory is he would help Everton take points off their title rivals....... Or Jose has lost the plot!
