Shots on target. Possession ok. Still a bit too scared to drive thru their ranks (might need Dembele) .
Loads of possession, very little to shoe for it. No real creative edge, final ball nowhere near good enough.
Quite surprised to see Everton so defensive at home. Is everyone now bar the top 4 going to play like this against Spurs ?? Verty has been good (fortunately no attacking pressure on him) .
Well on top for virtually the whole 45 minutes, but we didn't take our chances and didn't get the rub of the green on the penalty, either. Good performance so far, but it's disappointing not to be ahead.
very committed, great closing down, dominating midfield, good in defence... but not looking like we will score Everton will not be so poor in the 2nd half
Very impressive Spurs start, outplaying Everton on their own ground. No complaints from me, just need a goal.
Best football we've played this season, should have had a pen and certainly should be in the lead. Soldado's been the only negative so far, he should've had the ball earlier on a few ocassions but he should've done better with the chances we've had. It was very brave the way we've set up and it's worked, Dawson has dealt with Lukaku brilliantly when he's gone on to his side and Vertonghen has been superb all game causing them no end of problems whilst getting the better of Mirallas time after time. Everton will likely come out in the second half more organised though and I'd like to see Holtby push closer to Soldado so that we can make better use of our domination.
I got this from the BBC. Average position of each Spurs player after 30 minutes when they've touched the ball: please log in to view this image And the same for Everton: please log in to view this image
for the away fans as well. Don't know what was going on with "Operation Goodison" but it did seem to quieten them for a bit after they'd already been told to sit down, they found their voice again quickly. Excellent stuff
YV stop banging that AVB drum! No its surprising as Everton have changed their tactics in fear of our physical game, not keen on us being known as a big physical side, would rather be known for our technical ability but if teams are changing their tactics then it plays into our hands. All we need now is a touch of individual magic,.. Anyone? Walker?
