?

What should be done?

  1. Sack Hughton now

  2. Give him the West Ham game

  3. See what happens to the end of November

  4. Review again at Christmas- in time for the transfer reason

  5. Keep him on indefinitely-what will be will be

Well Longsight, I guess it is supposition on my part, and largely based on my ham reading of his personality. It's like SAF compared to Maggie Thatcher and CH to John Major IMO.

David McNally has deleted his twitter account; for someone normally so open, forthcoming and engaging with fans, that speaks volumes about the present situation...

Don't blame him. The amount of **** he probably has to put up with on there, especially now. Fans want people involved in the club to be open with whats going on, but if they are behaving like idiots and spouting abuse that won't happen

How very true. Virtually none of the communications he used to get were positive or in any way constructive, just fairly moronic sections of our warrior-esque fanbase getting on his and Hughton's case all the time. Would you bother with it?

I only just found out, but if you click on the number of votes beside each option, it shows you who has voted for what. As you'll see, I'm in the 'last chance saloon' West Ham game camp.

I've gone for the end of November, it's been a difficult run for the club we've had some tough fixtures, but that doesn't disguise results like Hull etc. The end of November is realistic and fair if it go's tits up it'll prevent the club from making a reactive appointment and give them time to think of a suitable replacement.

There's no evidence that CH cannot deliver harsh words when appropriate but to listen to Rusty's interview and conclude that a bollocking would help him at this time and that CH is a poorer manager for not delivering it, says as much about your managerial skills as his IMO. We're not privy to the dynamics of the dressing room. Like him or not, CH is in a much better position to judge what reaction is necessary.

For me the thing that would change my opinion about CH being given more time is if there was some suggestion that he had lost the dressing room or if there are factions within that dressing room that he cannot unite, although the latter will be a problem for any manager. Its all supposition but if the players were so deflated that a bollocking wasn't appropriate then it reassures me a little that perhaps that isn't the case.

I went for November. I don't want NCFCs future to boil down to one game after our dreadful recent fixture list. We all know that anything can happen in one game. Better to give him a month of more reasonable fixtures to sort things out.

McNally deleted his account? Don't blame him. The behaviour of some Norwich fans on anti-social media has been more disappointing than any result.

Valid points, though we'll have to agree to disagree.
The body language all over the park in the last week has been abysmal. Now you might be on a losing streak and on a hammering to nothing at the weekend just gone, but ffs show some heart - I was agog at the lack of interest all round and that, IMO is what needs addressing. I gave CH the West Ham game, and by default if we win that, the trick is then negotiating Newcastle away which would be a horrible place for him to lose his job. I think we have played some great football at times this season but it's not clicking is it? I'll eat my hat Swedish Dave, and gladly if CH takes us on a good run, restores my faith and the players demonstrate some of the passion that a manager of the game I am passionate about instills in them.

Only a quarter think Hughton should go now? It feels like a lot more say that.

If CH goes, I'd like a Southampton-style overnight change.

At the moment, things might not be working, but as far as we're aware CH and the squad are still working as one, there's no division between players and manager. If he had lost the dressing room, a caretaker manager might help get the players and management working together properly again, but as that's not an issue, why sack a reasonable experienced manager with a decent CV and give Calderwood or Neil Adams control for a few games? I don't see it as beneficial. You also don't know how long it's going to take to bring in the right person. Whilst we're not in as bad a position as Palace, there's hardly a queue of excellent managers ready to dive headlong into a relegation fight. 3 weeks, a month of caretaker management isn't helpful.

I'd much rather McNally and the board quietly identify the right man, and the backroom staff he'd want, and almost overnight completely change the management team. Sure it creates a slightly different set of problems, but I think it's a much more preferable way of going. Until we're in a position to do that, CH has my support. I think the board may consider acting if there's no improvement by the end of the month, or if we're starting to get cut adrift.

I think Southampton is the ideal case scenario for how to do it if we do. Wolves still sticks in my mind as how not to do it.

Looking back at our own record, who was kept too long?

    Worthy definitely

Cromer - It certainly is a well written article and at least explains why he has arrived at his decision.

I've voted that CH stays till Xmas for 2 reasons -
    1. I don't see any managers who are currently unemployed who I would rather have tae over at Carrow Road/Colney.
    2. By leaving any decision until Xmas, we give DM and the board sufficient time to employ a manager who will motivate the players we have got and get the midfield to actually deliver passes to whoever is playing the striker's role, as opposed to going for glory themselves.

I think we have got the basis of a team that can compete with and beat the other relegation contenders, BUT WE HAVE TO START SCORING GOALS and not keep hanging on for 1-0 wins!!!!!

i have gone for the end of nov, we have had a very tough spell, and i dont think most people would have expected many points from chealsea man city ect. but having said that we need to improve big time(and quick!)before we play the teams we need to take points from, starting with west ham. give him a chance over the next few games. i still think he is a good manager, and hopefuly 7-0 will give us a kick up the arse in a positive way and not crush an already fragile confidence. ch must realy earn his corn now

I went for the Wet Sham game option. I'm desperate for the bloke to do well as he's nice, speaks a lot of sense and long term, I genuinely think he's our best bet, but- Yesterdays performance is suggestive of loss of the dressing room (a la Worthington). If that has happened, then we need a change ASAP and the next game will be the acid test of that.
