It wasnt just the long balls, this was literally the first time Ive seen us put crosses in under Redknapp and what do you know, we score from 2 of them.
Fair point, the pass, pass tappetty, tap in our own half was becoming tiresome with no outcome. Would be great to see that type of play in a far more offensive manner though.
I suspect the longer game seen today was to out guess Stephen who would of guessed that we play from the back ... Afterall he coached it We pinged it around very well but as I have said before Derby got hold of the ball during the second half and outplayed us for 10min I don't agree that we played that well today and I am certain that we will try and pass our way around other teams in the future ... That's the way I like to see football played ... It breeds confidence IMO and controls the game I say again that our chances need to go in a lot more Goals win matches then having the confidence to pass the ball and control any lead must be the way to go IMO
Good Steve McClaren pre-match press conference:- More questions about QPR, Harry and Joey Barton than Derby.
Very good point there Oddball, I hadn't thought of that. Fair play to Harry if that's what he did as it worked in the end. I'm getting worried at our mounting injury list though.
After seeing the goal again, the climbing is even more obvious, how the hell did the ref miss that, I saw it from a block!
My man of the match was definitely Joey Barton. Thought he had a stormer. 8 Irish R's on the flight coming back including 5 new one's who I hadn't seen previously. One little lad about 4 saw his first ever QPR game today. Priceless.
The three regulars who you know are (me, Sharon and Nathan). I didn't get a chance to talk to any of the newbies. I was absolutely shattered, up since 4am
Talk of a 'longer game' makes it sound like Tony Pulis had taken over. We just had a better mix of passing, with more forward momentum. I'm all for keeping the ball, but it should have some end product.
If we play nothing but tippy tappy stuff, the back line can push up crowding the game. If we play some direct balls into the channels, the defenders have to be away so drop back leaving more space in an around the midfield. Its was a good tactical move especially as the balls were played into space and not to the head. Why not let Philips and Hoilett use their pace when they were up against 2 6 footers at FB?

Harry as always played wide men and tried to get in behind teams, so hopefully this will continue, especially as Phillips seems to be getting much better.
From where I was, Upper loft....as well as the climb which was more than just bleeding obvious, Additionally, it looked as though we had stopped, as though we thought the ref had blown...there was definitely a split second of indecision in the defenders. It took me a while to believe it was given. Joey nearly got booked for arguingm too
Very good clip Kilburn. Really enjoyed watching that. We are very fortunate to have Harry in charge. We're playing in the Championship and to have one of the top 10 managers in the country is quite unbelievable.
Sounds like you could be located in Calgary, Alberta, Dallas north. Really not looking forward to this inevitable winter weather to arrive in Atlantic Canada. Calgary could see up to 25 centimetres of snow by Sunday night. please log in to view this image http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/avoid-unnecessary-travel-airdrie-rcmp-warn-1.2335931
We've never got in behind teams, he always played wingers on the wrong side so they cut in all the time. The last game was the first I've seen where there was a clear alteration in the instructions. There were more crosses in that game than the rest of the games combined.
