Couldn't find it either, but just spoke to Dad, who was there. He said we played some good football, and they just about got into the game in patches, but nothing more than that.
No doubt good times here for post match celebrations - hopefully the same in 3 weeks after the Charlton game when I'll be there with Finglas and the Irish R's. Will be really interested to read Flyer's match report after the Yeovil game. please log in to view this image
Do you recall I was providing reassurance to you a week or so ago................................? I'm wobbling.
gutted to hear about ale, he was starting to show some form again. do we bring in chevanton for a proper run?
Yes, Sheff Wed certainly softened up Reading nicely for us. We are now 9 pts clear of 7th place Watford and 11 pts clear of 8th place Leeds, so we are definitely a very strong top 6 contender at this point in the season, although a top 2 finish would save us from all that play-off stress. Even with our Burnley loss, then Wigan tie, if we had not dropped those late 2 pts at Millwall, we would be up there with Burnley & Leicester. I saw the Leicester game at Watford today and they looked very good and I guess credit to Burnley coming back from a 2-0 deficit at the Den.
Funnily enough, I've gone the other way. Such a long way to go and we're in a great position considering all the goings on last season. I'm just trying to enjoy it mate.
I'm an ex pat too was a regular season ticket holder in s block till I relocated. Nice 15cm's snow and a hoops win to start the day!
On way home from match ... Apologies but couldn't make C&S to those you met up? No idea where the Derby goal came from as they looked clueless but had a second half spell where they knocked it around well BAE played very well and looked class and his first time pass late in the second half was worth seeing Phillips doesn't seem to go around players but he grew well into the game by the end Had a piss so missed Faurlins injury In short from the kick off we looked very good but always a feeling we were in only 1st gear and never really stepped up during the match after both our goals we relaxed a bit and it showed ... Can keep doing that Green pisses me off and his distribution is either too long or the wrong option ... He telegraphed a throw to BAE second half then changed his mind only to do it again We will get caught out in the end by him but his save very late on was superb Derby in he second half spell cut through our midfield at times and I did fear the worst ... A WIP for Stephen but he has poor players playing well together a few other teams will get beaten by them if they continue to improve Ref let a run of tackles go that should of seen a Derby player pick up a second card Junior made a few dead end runs but generally did well Barton was still running well at the end 3 points is 3 points but we are still not cutting edge enough for me We look solid but LR was nervous again by this performance We need to play in 2nd gear more often and we will piss games comfortably I have to keep hoping but my hopes of a 5-0 that this team should produce are fading
Great game. Mostly we out classed them and effectively neutralised any inside knowledge McLaren might have had. Totally gutted for Ale. Suspect that might be the end of his Hoops career so very sadly.
Sky said it was his knee. You'd think that's his career over if it it's his ligaments again. Can't believe it!
I thought Loftus Road sounded better than it has done for a while- the atmosphere is improving. Jenas had his best performance for a while, tired after 70 mins though and disappeared from the game a bit. Edit: Also, we played well! One of the best performances of the season, unlucky to not convert a few more chances. We were a lot more direct than V Wigan/Burnley, and weren't frustrating to watch today. Starting to mix some longer balls in with the 'tiki taka', which is making us less predictable. Phillips + Hoillet adding forward impetus, Barton's forward passes a contrast to the sideways play previously this week
Who cares if we win 5-0? Yes it would be good to watch, but it's a bit odd that you're so pessimistic this season when we've picked up points from all but one of our games when last season you couldn't praise the squad highly enough. The Champ. is a crap league full of workmanlike players, so of whom play for us. The mission is to get back into the PL by any means possible and if Austin had knocked in a couple today we would have cruised to victory.
By all accounts we should managed a much more comfortable win, and if this late Derby opportunity had gone in.... "Derby almost snatched a point as Green had to be at his best to deny Ward from an injury-time free-kick as the hosts managed to hold on ahead of next weekend's trip to fifth-placed Reading." ........we could have all been crying in our beer right now, like at Millwall.
