Some interesting comments by Mark Maguire, the club were obviously very nervous about the negative image of Cash Converters and considered walking away from the deal, with the Allam's offering to underwrite the sponsorship if required. http://www.ambernectar.org/blog/2011/06/maguire-converted-by-sponsorship-cash/
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
They should have walked away. This just cements every mis conception people have about Hull. Why would Cash Converters choose Hull? Clearly this region is particularly profitable for Cash Converters...what a bag of ****. Who else was in the running? Brighthouse, pay for everything weekly on the never never at frankly scandalous interest rates?
You all seem to think this is a negative for Hull Cash Converters are nationwide and have 3 stores in Hull....6 in Leeds so this is not a negative for Hull as such.
Just got the club newsletter which contains this: "You'll also notice that we have a new major sponsor - Cash Converters. They see us as a strong and credible brand with which to promote their business nationally. In fact, we are one of only a handful of clubs in the Championship with a strong enough brand for a global corporation to consider partnering with us, but we were also confident enough in ourselves to ensure that the Cash Converters logo appears in our traditional colours." Translation: 'Yeah we know it's a bit **** and embarrassing and the logo doesn't even look right on the shirt but there was no else willing to stump up that much cash'
i am fed up of hearing this £1 million figure banded around.........that is dependent on premier league and probably a host of other factors. i wonder what the deal is real worth? having spent most of my life working on spin, i think something smells in the state of denmark!!!
Exactly. It's also been annoying me that everytime Radio Humbs mention the deal they quote it as a £1million deal yet the club clearly stated that is dependent on promotion during the lifetime of the deal. I would guess then that if we dont get promoted it's probably worth half that.
Does Maguire know Cash Converters do 400%APR Loans? The comparison with ebay is false How does the loan side of the business fit with Mr Allams beliefs, I would like the media to ask this question?
SportsPro magazine(which reports on commercial sports deals) have the sponsorship at £500k per season in their report, though maybe they've just got the wrong end of the stick.
Is that quote for real ? What a load of ****, whoever said that must think we're a proper bunch of mugs. What the **** are they on about when they say 'but we were also confident enough in ourselves to ensure that the Cash Converters logo appears in our traditional colours." Coca Cola allowed their logo to be printed in the colours of every club in the Championship but we're supposed to be grateful because Cash Converters have let us use black and amber instead of red and blue or whatever it is .Have a word, and as for the strong enough brand for a global blah blah blah. YOU CANNOT POLISH A TURD and that is what this sponsorship deal is , a load of old turd,IMO. Jimmy 's translation sums it up to perfection. UTT.
