Kind of. Stoke worked very hard against us in ridiculous conditions, so in reality, though we were clearly the better team, it's a hard won point. 2 x men of the match - JWP and Wanyama.......which might be rather awkward for some people.....!
Not a bad point...we aren't going to win every time out, and having conceded first it's a solid result. Had the penalty been given it would have been a hellishly cheap way to win a match, but a penalty it should have been. Oh well, undefeated in seven sounds pretty good to my ears.
Not sure how you can say he had the whole goal to aim for when the keeper came, made himself big and cut the angles down...
If we were Tottenham, it would have been a penalty. I'm gutted we've dropped points, i feel we showed we're a much better team. But it happens, Stoke got lukcy with the first goal and they managed to keep us at bay afterwards.
In the grand scheme of things (having conceded a goal early), that was a decent point away from home. We always take the chance of not winning because we don't score freely...but we are very hard to beat.
Slightly disappointed, though I shouldn't be. No celebratory beer this evening, though I've already heard that Stoke held Southampton. That just goes to show how everybody is now looking at Saints. The expectation is now there.
To summarise the match in 3 points.... 1) Wrong sub, Jay was the only chance we had of getting in behind them. 2) Lack of attacking depth on the bench. 3) Another stonewall penalty not given (not surprised as Chris Foy was the most biased 'homer' I saw us face away from home last year at Newcastle). and I know I said 3 points, but 4) I guess the fact we're frustrated after drawing away to Stoke is a good thing, we're getting better.
