    Hey Toon supporters!

Greetings from across the pond in St. Louis USA. Just wanted to give a shout out to any of the Toon Army who may be be making the the trip to the States to see the boys play Sporting KC on in Kansas City USA on July 20th.

Myself and a few other Toon fans are making the trip from St. Louis to Kansas City, and would love to find out where any of you may be staying, or if there are any plans to hit up some certain pubs before and after the match. We are all excited that the Toon have decided to come to the States and a really looking forward to meeting some of you fans- the best fans in all of sport!

They wear a lot of padding but I've seen some really heavy crunching tackles go in. No punches pulled and quite a few thrown.

Shouldn't compare, American football is a collision sport, rugby is a contact sport...

When I was a kid at school, the girls used to play netball while we played football or cricket ( depending on the season ) of course. And when I first heard of Basketball ball I thought it would just be like netball, how wrong I was. There was more cruching tackles going in than we see in 90 mins of football. Loved it!

Are you a Union or League fan Sir Bobby? I can't really tell by the above post.

Let's just say, I think Union is for soft lads, whereas League is proper rugby

"Collision Sports" - love the sound of that. You'd get some of them on that 'sports hurt' bit that used to be on Sky Sports All Sports Show (if that's what it was called).

I have played both forms (just to make up the numbers) and I can see both arguments, the tackles are harder in League as you can get 3 players taking you down without help, however in Union you can get "raked" where if you are on the floor with the ball they "rake" the ball away from you (the ball generally being your body). Both are brutal games. I used to be more of a Union fan due to the mauls and rooking over however I have now changed to league as its much more skillful.
