Boo fecking hoo!

The digs are well deserved imho.

Anyway my point was that Sneijders is quality, and as I don't anticipate him ever playing for my club, I'd rather see him go to a club with pedigree than arriviste upstarts like yourselves or Man City! <ok>

EDIT: Incidentally, mud isn't slung at QPR because as they themselves would put it "they aren't a rich club, just owned by rich people"

now now ;)

I'm not a big fan of Abramovich for a start - the guy is clearly a crook... I also don't like teams buying their way to success (or trying to - I'm delighted that Chelsea still can't win the CL). I can't for the life of me understand why these Sheiks bought Man City either!

I know some people talk about United's spending too, but at the end of the day, you've not splashed much cash in recent years, and the spine of the team that's brought you so much success was largely homegrown, and I think that's admirable.

There are a lot of petty, jealous fans out there who dislike United - and I guess that's their reason, but as I say I find certain other Premiership clubs far easier to dislike, with (imho) far better reason!

Give it a rest about wage bills, chelsea will still sign some world class players and probably Sneidjer. We have dropped interest for him and are in for Nasri as a central midfield replacment for Scholes SKY SPORTS

When Young signs it could mean the end of Valencia as a certain starter, having Nani and Young interchanging in games is better than the static Valencia who can't play on the left. Also Park is soon to be 30 as well and Giggs can no longer play on the wing due to his age. It makes sense why Young is coming in, not as a replacement for Nani but as an extra addition.

Nope...
Young will be giving both Nani and Valencia competition for their spaces.

Nani wont be assured of a place anymore than Valencia will.
Hopefully this will actually get him to put in a consistent shift.

Assuming he doesn't get shipped out <ok>

I doubt he will be shipped out, Nani has stated he will be here next season and has stated that he is looking forward to the new season and was hoping Berbs would stay. Ferguson has said there is a belief that Nani will be a top player at Utd in the future after the awards. I can see him staying and the more competition the better.

I don't see Nani leaving anytime in the foreseable future for sure. I have never got the vibe that he would leave, even when he was strongly linked with moves away last, last January. Having a wing quartet of Park, Valencia, Nani and Young would be fantastic. Moreover, it would mean that Giggs could play in the centre pretty much all the time, not that he has been ineffective on the wing. And I genuinely don't understand why people would have Young OVER Nani, for me, the latter is the one you'd want, might not be as consistant, but at the peak of their respective powers, Nani is far the better player. I think Young will prove to be a good buy, but how do you pick 2 out of the 4 wingers we will have if Young arrives? Not easy because all have their advantages, surely we should be looking at this as a blessing. Nani and Park have never complained at not being first names on the teamsheet despite showing brilliant form and this competition can only be healthy.

Agree fully

Some people just have a HATE agenda for Nani.

Papers will link him away but Nani has stated he will be here next season and Ferguson has praised him a lot. I doubt he would praise him and then sell him and reports of Nani being angry are rubbish. Nani has been celebrating as ever and when he talked about missing out on the final 11, he spoke respectably about respecting Fergis decision.

But the 27-year-old made it clear that he wants to remain in Milan.

"There is a family atmosphere at Inter and there are all the ingredients to aim high," he said, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

"Milan is marvellous, picturesque and full of elegance. I love it. At the moment I am very happy here and I don't see why I should leave."

That is that

-------------------De Gea
---Rafael-----Vidic-----Smalling-----Evra
------------Fletcher---Carrick
Nani/Val/Nasri---Rooney---Sneij/Young/Nasri
-----------------Hernandez

Might that be the sort of formation SAF is aiming for depending on signings? Sneijder played on the left with RM when VDV was playing as the number 10, and has a tendency to drift to the left even when playing in the centre. A formation like that should give us the extra bodies in midfield and potentially better movement to counter the big B. If we ended up with Rooney, Sneijder and Nasri as our attacking three we might stand a chance of countering Xavi, Iniesta and Messi, particularly with Carrick and Fletcher both shielding the defence.

<ok> If all goes to plan, we should have some serious competition, options and versatility. Has the potential to be a bright summer.

Liverpool fan in peace!!

To be honest I think you've done some good business in signing Jones, great talent and will do well with you guys, just hope he gets some game time and isn't wasted on the bench. Also I've got mixed (slightly jealous) feelings about the fact it looks almost certain you'll get Young - as another great talent, and good to see top England players playing at high level together etc but I do think there are better wingers out there available that you could have got... I do wonder the wisdom in signing Nasri though...

<ok>

Yeah I'm very pleased with the signing of Jones.

He and Smalling play together at U21 level - so I'm hoping they already have some understanding of each others' game. I'm expecting them to play alongside each other during the carling cup and early FA Cup stages, and then to play seperately alongside Vidic and, occasionally, Rio during the Prem and the CL.

With Brown and possibly Evans leaving, I'm sure he'll get some good game time.
If all goes to plan, we have our centre back pairing sorted for the next ten years.

I'm also excited about the prospect of signing Young.

We only really have three wide-men at the moment (Nani, Park and Valencia), so increased competiton is definately needed.
His time at Villa has shown him to be a hard worker, a good passer, pacey, and versatile, he scores goals and most crucially - he's a team player.

I know there were other optons - But Young is relatively cheap for an England international. Plus, when a traditional top four side signs an English player they're almost guaranteed a full career commitment provided they are wanted, are getting games and are achieving (Rio, Rooney, Lampard).

For example, I'd expect Carroll will be at Liverpool during all of his peak years whilst he's wanted, provided you and him are achieving - much like Rooney, Rio and Lampard.
English players rarely go abroad or to their main rivals.

I feel we need to improve our possesion game, and I personally find wingers like Sanchez frustrating. Young is a player who will listen and learn, loves to cross the ball, and takes a good set piece. Young actually might have been a perfect fit for Liverpool with Carroll in the box.

You pleased with the signing of Henderson?
