think he is having a flukey start to the season do you? 8 in 9 but also, 21 in 26 games if you go back to last season don't think so Did you see his goal last weekend?
If you can score goals like that then you are entitled to do whatever celebration you want I reckon Except Fowlers one maybe
Lets see how long he keeps it up. I suspect come January there wont be too many more on that tally. I'll bet he doesnt hit 20 come the end of the season. So yeh, its a fluke. Also................. he wouldnt be the first English striker to be **** and score a few goals, that Bent fella was quite prolific.
As with all these things it depends on how high you rate him. The benchmark is, of course, how many time you insist on putting "top" before the word "player". Just make sure you're old skool ethical about it
Agree with Totti, Ibrahimovic, and Ribery. Totti is a one club man but honestly he's nearly anonymous one or twenty times per season and he gets a pass because of who he is. He's also a bit of a dick. Ibrahimovic just leaves whenever things aren't centred around him and gets lucky to be picked up by teams that will play to his strengths. I'm also not impressed if he is scoring for fun in France. I still think he's a top top top player, I just don't think he's ever really been under pressure - if he is he just ****s off somewhere where he can readjust. Every Bayern match the possession reads Bayern 50%, opposition 30%, Ribery 20%. Add a few step-overs and he is suddenly Messi. Simulates so much its not even funny. Neymar however I didn't rate whatsoever until I saw his performances in a Barca shirt. The lad really is trying to cement his spot and is scoring to boot. Overrated yes, but like all of the above is still a great player. That being said I'd take all of these at Liverpool without a second thought
To be fair mate Sturridge has been banging them in for us for about 10 months now. He hasn't even been 100% fit for most of this season, he didn't even get a pre-season under his belt! Also worth noting he's notched a fair few assists too.
Still doubt he will reach 20. Hes doing well against smaller sides ( for the most part ) so far. Other than playing the worst united side in a while hes yet to face any big club. Lets see how he does the next few months when Liverpools fixtures become far tougher than the last few months have been. United and RvP/Rooney have faced a much tougher earlier test so come january i expect all 4 to be very close in terms of goals.
Still think you're being too harsh. Since he joined he's scored against Man Utd (x2), Chelsea and City so it's not been a bad return really. I think he has a great chance of scoring 20, unfortunately he is made of glass so we'll do well keeping him fit for a whole season.
Personally, i don't think sturridge is overrated. He has been great for liverpool this season and is one of the best strikers in the premier league.
Forget last season. Last season Liverpool were so bad that by the time he arrived you had no expectations which allowed him to play without. Its a dangerous thing which breeds hope. Hope which all to often lets you down. you should know, its an annual thing for Liverpool* * see boom bust cycle.
[h=3]Manchester United[/h] 01 De Gea 03 Evra 04 Jones (Valencia - 37' ) 05 Ferdinand 15 Vidic 11 Giggs (Hernandez - 73' ) 16 Carrick Booked 18 Young Booked (Nani - 63' ) 19 Welbeck 23 Cleverley Booked 20 Van Persie Booked The worst united side for a while, apart from Rooney that was your first team squad.
I think cazorla is overrated. He is a good player but nowhere near as good as the arsenal fans claim he is. His assist and goal record are poor for a player that plays in his position.
5 players who are not our first team players. So no, its not. However i was referring to how we were playing.
So basically what you're saying is discount everything he's done in a red shirt.. We can't count the beginning of this season because we've not played the top (top, top(?)) teams, and we can't count last season as there were no expectations. Gotcha
