Aluko and Brady are now less than 50/50 for tomorrow(both will have fitness tests today).

McGregor, Chester and Bruce are missing through injury.

The YouTube live broadcast isn't working again. <doh>

I suspect Brady was rushed back too soon. Aluko probably still suffering the effects of being snapped by Barry?

Brady is presumably still suffering the effects of his hernia op and Aluko is suffering the effects of Gareth Barry trying to break his leg.

I think we're really going to pay for rushing him back for a game we were always likely to lose, he shouldve been wrapped in cotton wool and brought back for tomorrow. And that's not hindsight.

I've just heard Matt Dean on Blunderside, he says Brady is looking more likely than Aluko.

I wonder if Boyd can manage to take up Aluko's role, having already played for two hours this week?

Steve Bruce will welcome midfielder Jake Livermore back into his squad for Saturday’s home game against Sunderland.

Livermore was ineligible for the double-header against Tottenham Hotspur due to him being on loan from the White Hart Lane club but returns to the fold to boost an already healthy list of central midfield options which also includes a fit again Robert Koren. The Slovenian played 80 minutes in the midweek Capital One Cup tie against Spurs after six weeks out with a broken bone in his foot.

Tom Huddlestone, Maynor Figueroa and Yannick Sagbo will all be pushing for recalls after being on the bench in midweek, while Abdoulaye Faye is also fit to play after recovering from a calf problem.

Bruce will run checks on Robbie Brady (hernia) and Sone Aluko (calf) in training on Friday to assess their fitness, but the manager rates both players as having less than a 50-50 chance of playing.

Allan McGregor (thigh), James Chester (hamstring) and Alex Bruce (groin) are all ruled out, while loan striker Danny Graham is ineligible to face his parent club.

Boyd played a blinder the other night, and suspect he’ll still be chomping at the bit for a prem start.

If he keeps up that level of performance, Aluko missing hopefully won’t weaken things too much.

Boyd will be looking to cement his place in the team in this his preferred position, and looking longer term (with Aluko’s contract talks seemingly no further on), he’ll probably see this as a great opportunity.

If Aluko isn't fit, I'd expect Boyd to start in that position with Koren taking over when he starts to flag. I'd also expect us to go 4-4-2 at home in a game we'd hope to win so my guess would be:

Harper

Rosenior McShane Davies Figueroa

Elmo Huddlestone Livermore Brady or Quinn
Boyd
Sagbo

Subs: Jak, Faye, Meyler, Koren, Gedo, Proschwitz, Quinn or Brady

I think Brucey might put Faye in over McShane - Spurs was suited to McShane, where-as Sunderland's Fletcher and Altidore are different types of players. Altidore is built like a bull, so I think Faye might be best to keep an eye on him, as Faye could probably knock a bull over just by looking at it. Davies matches Fletcher's height and nimble footwork. Davies could do a job against Altidore, meaning McShane marks Fletcher, which I think he could match Fletcher on the ground, but it isn't an aerial battle I'd like to see.

Your 442 became a 4411 in two lines. Made me smile anyway

you're right Boyd did play a blinder - he was by far the worst player on the pitch, he constantly failed to mark his man, giving them too much space, other times he would double up marking either Quinn's man or Rosie's man leaving the Spurs man free to run the wing - his control and passing was poor and his speed was woeful losing about three yards in 20 when running after the ball

Get Koren back in for elmo. He was superb before his injury.

Edit:Or behind Saggy if Boyd isn't up to it. Basically get Koren back in.

I don't see why Brady was initially rushed back either

Can anyone give me any advice on who will start at the back for Hull?

I'll be honest - it is for Fantasy Footy.

I need a Hull defender for the next 3 matches - McShane / Faye / Rosenior??? I can't afford the others!

Rosenior is the most likely to start but the other two would offer a greater goal threat if they play.

By the way, why would you choose that user name but leave out the "'s" which would make it make sense?
