I've constantly said it's opinion, as there are few facts to deal with; but opinion is relevant in matters such as this, otherwise much of the campaigns argument would flounder.

As I said, it could, and in his mind, will constitute a part of the consultation; don't be too complacent on this point, as if I were him, I would reverse your own position of representing a very broad supporter base - it is naive to believe anyone would see you as twelve individuals, as your own campaign blurb kind of makes a mockery of that stand.. And there are wider, unexpected attendees, I believe. I think you are all underestimating the platform he has invited you all to step up to.

Groups meet with Hull City chairman over name change

Members of a community group campaigning to keep Hull City AFC's historic name will be meeting the owner of the club to discuss his plan to change its name to "HullTigers".

The CityTillWe Die group have been invited to send representatives to the meeting with Hull City chairman Dr Assem Allam.

Representatives of various Hull City supporter groups - the majority of whom are actively backing the No To Hull Tigers campaign- have also been invited to attend.

Campaigners want him to reconsider his decision to change Hull City's 109-year-old name, as they believe that it is an important part of the local community, and that a rebrand to "HullTigers" would not necessarily market the club more successfully.

Is there a supporters group that's not actively backing the campaign, and are they going to be in attendance?

The meeting is at 7.30 pm tonight.

The only group attending that have not come out in full support of the campaign are the OSC, though they have now done a bigger poll of their members and the result is that they are against a name change by almost three to one. Assuming they have to respect the views of their members, it's likely that everyone attending is against any name change.

Cheers for that. Good luck tonight, it sounds as if it will be interesting.

I think most people are like me, grateful we have people like the reps who can voice things in a way we wish we could, but know we can't.

OLM, we need to get down to important matters now. How are you going to represent us? Like, what are you going to wear? How are you going to swagger? What kind of accent will you use?

I think you should imitate the godfather, or scarface. Let the doctor know who he's ****ing with.

I shall be wearing Tan brogue boots, dark denim jeans, a fine gauge v-neck and a check cotton jacket(possibly a shirt) and I will spend the entire evening doing a Borat accent, gypsy.

You're going to look like a pussy (are you on the one direction bandwagon by any chance?)

You need a silk black suit, a top hat, white shirt with black tie, highly polished black shoes and a gun holster. Make sure every item declares a brand such as Gucci, Armani, Prada etc... You need some bling on too, make the Doctor seem as if he's at evens with you, but you've had more people buried in your back garden than the kray twins.

Take a cap (or starter) pistol in your gun holster, and keep fidgeting with the handle during the meeting, make it especially obvious when he mentions Hull Tigers, and you need a big fat cigar to roll between your fingers on your other hand even if it remains unlit. Also make sure you speak in an Italian accent.

The OSC by their very nature can't be as explicit as the other fanzines and groups in condemning the club or the owner's ideas. However that poll gives them a reason to oppose the name change so hopefully you'll be a united front. Good luck.

What would be the point if the OSC being there if not to oppose the name change? It's a war meeting not a come and heap praise on me meeting.

Is there a dinner or free beer included?

If that's how it turns out, The Doctor is a cheapskate. Get the upper hand by buying him a pint. Or ten.

OLM take your Pokemon with you. I hear Dr Allam is a mean Pokemon trainer and will stop the name change if you beat him in battle. Want to borrow my Pikachu?
