baring in mind rvw didn't throw it to the keeper, common sense dictates that he was frustrated because he wanted fer to pass it back to the keeper in a difficult area and i don't think he was listening to him! then he could have quickly closed him down. that's certainly what i would do
That is a possibility I guess, and could have been interesting. You might want to drop over to the other board and read some of the dribble being spouted - Fer and Norwich are this weeks anti-Christ
yes, i've seen that now thai. they seem to be both making up their own rules and making up what happened! i've put them right
I just had a look and saw Blue Sheep accusing Tettey of 'rolling around like he'd been shot' I was about to correct him with news from the treatment table..... and you've already explained it to them. Probably in far better queen's English than I'd have managed
It does surprise me that some football fans believe that under such circumstances, the opposing team MUST give the ball back. Err, wrong!
i would have done if it had been me but we've been brought up to do that here. but the goal should still stand - the referee cannot make up the rules to suit him!
I am personally so so grateful that the goal wasn't given, regardless of whether it should have stood or not as it would have been somewhat of a PR disaster for Leroy and us as a club and definitely wasn't within the "spirit of the game" - whatever that means nowadays
I don't quite share that view, as I believe the outcome as it is today is more farcical than it would have been if it was allowed, then the equaliser given away. It would have also made the ref look like he knew the rules, and what he was doing. The outcome is fine, I have no issue with that, just the fact that the ref has tried to wriggle his way out of an embarrassing situation (from his point of view), and the Referees association appear to be sweeping it under the carpet too.
