Completely agree. Gedo did more with his hard running and getting into scoring positions in his 30 minutes (plus a great pressure penalty) than Graham has done all season. I cannot believe those who keep saying stick with Graham he'll come good. He hasn't and he won't. Gedo is far better, although he should have scored to put us ahead 3-1 yesterday. Sagbo and Gedo for me against Sunderland. Graham in the stands. McLean put in a far better shift and should be on the bench.
Best thing you can do with Graham is sell him to a championship side come Jan. He's not prem caliber... simple as that.
Ever seen a film called Twins with Arnie Schwartznegger? In it one twin gets all the good genes; tall, good looking, intilligent and honourable. The other twin gets all the bad genes; short, fat, ugly, unpleasant to look at a cheat. I've always thought Newcastle United and Sunderland were a bit like that. Bad Northeastern gene day on Saturday!!
Assuming Brady and Aluko are match fit I'd go with a fairly attacking line up. Harper Elmo Davies McShane Figueroa Livermore Huddlestone Boyd Aluko Sagbo Brady If either Brady or Aluko can't play I'd move Elmo up the pitch and bring Rosey in at right back.
Well, since Chester got injured Faye has come in and done well - but then McShane came in on Sunday and has played well twice at Spurs. Assuming Faye is fit, Bruce could go either way, or indeed pick all three CBs. Frankly McShane is a changed player these days. A couple of years ago I'd written him off, but he is so much steadier now.
Well - shamefully deplorable spelling aside Mr. Hat - I like the look of this. I think a rest wouldn't do Elmo any harm, I don't mind Aluko out wide at all and if Brady's not fit, I think Boyd is the obvious choice on the left.
Apart from free kicks and a dodgy penalty just about all the goals against us have come from Figueroa's flank, might be worth sticking with; Elmo Davies McShane Rosenior it looked solid for the last hour on Wednesday
Harper Rosie McShane\Faye Davies Figgy Elmo Thudd Livermore Brady\Boyd Aluko\Gedo Sagbo A lot will depend on injuries. I'd like to see - Harper Rosie McShane Davies Figgy Thudd Livermore Meyler Aluko Sagbo Brady I'm hoping someone has been working with Sagbo on his positioning
That's a formation I'm keen on: a 4-3-3 that can become a 4-5-1 when we lose the ball. I think it makes good use of Aluko and Brady. (Boyd could come in for either if one is not fit.) I'd have Quinn in over Meyler for more creativity, though. Koren didn't look quite ready the other night.
I was thinking Meyler to try allow Thudd to push further up the pitch. The poor lad needs a hair cut! With Brady and Aluko all but out, I think we'll see Koren and Boyd come in.
Funny how he was PL quality at Swansea and he's contributed to our excellent start to this season. Problem is like many players, he just failed at Sunderland.
Dont bother. Your need is far greater than ours. We have fresh fish for s start. No such place anymore. Get with the times eh ? Hope so. He and Davies had Soldado and Defoe in there pockets last 2 games So Fletcher and Altidore wont be problem at all. If Aluko is not fit enough to start then based on the last 2 games and bringing fresher legs back into the starting 11 then maybe this :- Harper Rosenior McShane Davies Figueroa Elmohamady Meyler Huddlesstone Livermoore Brady Sagbo Would leave us with a strong bench also. NB. See that Sunderland have allowed Conor Wickham to go out on loan to the Wendies. Fryatt & Wickham eh.
