I've lost the sound on YouTube! Sound is OK on downloads of film/music. Otherwise - nothing. I tried uninstalling Flash Player and re-installing latest version (v.11) but no joy. Any ideas?
Sounds daft and patronising but...you've not by any chance clicked the Youtube video mute button in the bottom left corner?? Also have you tried different browsers to see if that makes a difference?
Go on the speaker in the corner of your desktop, click on it, and go on Mixer. Usually it shows you all the different applications that are using sound. Here's a screenshot... please log in to view this image If it's a YouTube video not working, it may not be Chrome that is muted, but flash player.
Just did a 'warm re-start' of my lap-top. Tried Golaccio's "Friday Night Music" thread.......bingo: sound! Then went to YouTube and sound there works. Thanks for the suggestions, though - good to know there are some helpful folks on this board.
Sorry Macca, obviously too subtle for you. Usually when someone says "my sound has gone" the first response is "speakers plugged in??" In much the same way as "My display's gone funny" gets "Monitor turned on?" Might only be funny if you work in IT....
I usually get the opposite: "It's not working etc etc... BUT I'VE ALREADY TRIED TURNING IT OFF AND ON BEFORE YOU SAY!!!!" As if that's the extent of our expertise.
Turn it off and back on again is a staple. In fairness it does sometimes resolve issues, in fact like it appeared to for Stan!
No, HT - I went on to a Yahoo Answers forum for advice. I didn't know if I'd done any good but, as Restart is sometimes necessary to activate changes, that's what I did.
