The next Fans’ Site Meeting is now looming on the horizon. This is where we can raise questions, suggestions and complaints regarding the comms and media output of the club directly with Ian Taylor and Paul Morrissey. Ian is looking to put together an agenda by the end of this week, so any thoughts?

I have a note of Grifter’ complaint about the abysmal QPR Player match commentary, but is there anything else? The website has been upgraded over the last couple of months, is it a step in the right direction? Any comments on this season’s programme or the latest edition of the InsideR? Maybe a comment on the format of London Call-In, or the club’s Twitter output. How about the little videos that appear regularly on the official QPR You Tube page?

Roller, if you mean by the "little videos" the ones showing the 60 seconds with goals from each game, they are great when there are so many games now that you can't see, unless you are at the games. The web site and comms from the Club have improved signifiacantly for me. Just that you have these meetings is a big step forward.

The programme is much improved Roller.

I love the little behind the scenes videos they put out.

I think there are too many fans sites meetings.

I think the media team are top drawer. The content that they make available is excellent, it really connects with the fan base. Their twitter feed on a matchday is superb, the matchday programme is now a very enjoyable read. The only gripe I can muster if I must is 'London Call-in.' Can they add some volume, although it's concept makes for a great show, I can barely hear it. I can't comment on InsideR as my Google Chromebook refuses to recognise its format. Cheers Roller.

my only complaint is my phone wont show videos from the official website
if they could do a text version of London call in that would be great
also when I click on "more news" it shows the same stuff I have already looked at

and no I am not likely to buy a new smart phone any time soon

I think that the comms from the club has improved beyond all recognition in recent years. They output a great deal now, whereas before there was nothing. And most of it is free too.

Take the London Call In show for instance; not only did we previously have nothing like this, but when it started it was actually quite embarrassingly amateur. The sound was dire to the point of being unlistenable, there was just one static camera shot throughout of two blokes wearing cumbersome headphones like they were at NASA Mission Control in the 60s, there were no match highlights, no player interviews, and it was only available through that dreadful uStream site. Now it’s a much more varied and professional offering, and can be watched on YouTube.

The InsideR is another example. Great little online magazine that and completely free. The “Pass Masters” and “Behind the Scenes” features were great, and the Facebook and Twitter output is all pretty professional.

They’re doing cracking job IMHO <ok>

The Inside'R' is a finalist in Sport & Health and Fitness category in the Digital Magazine Awards for 2013

It is the best product our media team produces in my opinion.

Could you ask about an online version of the match day program? Are there any plans for one, and if not why not?!

Being so far away, and an anorak that always brought a program at the game, I'd be more than happy to stump up a few quid for a PDF copy.

The media team at QPR need to get a massive pat on the back from me because they have turned it around in a very good way ... it was really awful to start with and Yes i would have walked to work each day to be part of the team ... Yes i would of got it turned round quicker and better and maybe the livery of QPR is still a bit lame but it works for our fans now and I salute them for doing a great job ... Christ they wear suits now and look very professional

Look luck to them and thank you

After reading the thread on Alec Stock, and the great disservice we gave to him and his family at their time of need, could it be suggested that we somehow 'put things right' ? Don't know how or when but something, IMO, should be done.

Just seen this is being muted on one of the other boards and would hopefully be supported by his family.
Any chance of all the boards getting together on this one.

Sarah Stock has already said the family would back such a move.

"I'm sure I can speak for the family and say we would certainly support such an idea.Lovely of you to suggest it"

How we treated Alec was awful but he was in no way unique with this.

What is long overdue is for the club to start an ex players/officials association. I accept that this may not be needed so much for todays players, but many in the past have needed help.

All of the above are excellent points. I was thinking a while back that for whatever reason, our club doesn't really recognise our former greats in the way that other clubs seem to do. Of course I'm sure there has been the odd exception such as the squad of 82/83 appearing at half time at the Newcastle home game last season.
I think it would be a good idea for the club to have a guest of honour at certain games. For instance, Don Masson could be the GOH on Saturday, he played for both clubs, so would be ensured a great reception at half time from both sets of fans. Likewise DT when we play Burnley at home etc.

To be fair they are getting better at this. Mark Lazarus was a guest at a match towards the end of last season, and the 2003/4 squad are being presented at half time in the Bournemouth match in December. Still plenty of scope for improvement though.

I think the opportunities these guest appearances afford the media dept. as regard for articles on the web site, in the Insider etc make them more likely too.

I'll post up the agenda for next week's meeting when I receive it, and still welcome any more thoughts on things that could be improved.

Well Roller this maybe difficult for the Club, but it would be great if fixture date / time changes could be published / fixed earlier. I suppose the TV Companies control it all as here in Norway, but perhaps pressure could get these dates fixed earlier. This has hit me now because I booked early Saturday morning flights and car hire for us to get to the Leicester game on the Saturday afternoon before Christmas, having been told by the ticket office it was very unlikely this game would be moved from the 15.00 time that day. Now I find the game starts at 12.15, for TV I suppose, not 15.00 as when I made these bookings, and I'm not at all sure I'll make that early start arriving as we do at Stansted (where it can take an hour to get through passport control!). Great we are on the TV when I'm over here, not so good when I want to see it for real! !!

Just to let you know that we had a good meeting last night and many of the points raised in this thread were covered.

I'll post up the minutes when they have been agreed.
