Redknapps historical record against top teams is better than Hughes and ask any neutral whose teams play the most negative football. In answer to your question it might possibly be the fact that he had to bring in a complete new team this season and funnily enough miracles don't happen overnight.
Redknapp had a reputation for playing attacking attractive football. I have yet to see a single game where hes done that for us. Of course neutrals will saying Hughes plays the more negative football because they will remember Redknapps Spurs days. Redknapp has been here 11 months and there has been zero improvement in the style of play, in fact its got worse when you take the opposition into account.
Wasn't long ago that we couldn't hold onto the ball for more than 5 passes ... 63% possession away to Wigan in my book is progression and I am not a fan of Harold 61% against Burnley 58% against Millwall 66% against Burnley 67% against Boro 53% against Seagulls 55% against Brum We are controlling football matches and getting better at it Yes we aren't turning these into 3 points each game but these are clear footballing facts .. no one fusses when we squeaked a win at Yeovil (49%) It will come ... 100% certain
There has been considerable improvement in play...we are not losing, we are playing possession football. I suspect we will see a more attacking option on Saturday..and a win Not many teams are going to get points at Wigan (and Burnley are top and playing good football) We are into November with only one loss and that away at the top team....last year we hadn't won a match
there is no doubt harry will play attacking football eventually, but to say wigan have a better squad, well its like saying my pair is better than your full house in poker, I am just waiting until he says, we are down to the bear bones, this squad is better than cpfc by far and maybe a few others in the prem. bit its still a good point away from home
Wigan have a very together squad that is for sure but we have by far the best squad in the division ... No excuses if we fail to get anything less than direct promotion. I still stand we will win the division by a clear ten points, get our loan players back and push on in the Premiership
This board has some moron’s on it- We are getting better, no doubt and will get better as key attacking players get fit/match sharp. Redknapp is doing well. His signing’s have been excellent and he has done very well to put the team together that he has. Only frustration is that we are playing with the leash on a bit but Redknapp is wise. Burnley will fade as injuries take their toll on a light squad and form also fades. Burnley have also rode their luck with the odd goal in a game that could have gone either way i.e Ipswich, Currently: - Burnley average points per game: 2.46 - Leicester average points per game: 2.23 - Us average points per game: 2.15 Over a season this would mean: Burnley 113 points Leicester 103 points QPR 99 points Anyone who honestly believe they will maintain that is deluded. Reading will replace Burnley as our other main rival. So much arrogance on this board, ‘we must get promoted top 2’, ‘we must win playing better football’. Apply some perspective- if we don’t get promoted this year then we are ****ED. As the owners have gambled a bit. Every indication that we will get promotion this year. It might not always be that exciting (although we do play pretty football) but lets have some positivity and stop ****ing moaning Anyway it’s a Thursday and I work in the City so I’m heading off out agfain now to get pissed
1 point away from home is a good point. Considering we already have 3 wins on the road is a bloody magnificent start if you ask me. Right now we have played more games away from home, 7 v 6. Home game coming up against Derby, going to be tough but very winable. The team has showed that they are capable of fighting and grinding our results, something I thought was ni on imposible after our disaster of a season last year. I'm extremely happy with the start we've made. And for those with rose tinted glasses about how we played under Warnock, WAKE UP! We started very well and tore teams apart, but from November until the end of the season it was a slog fest, grinding, grinding and some more grinding, apart from Adels brilliance. Loved Warnock and have never felt better than that promotion winning season but come on, easy on the eye? No way. Me personally, I can't remember one rainy day from my childhood summers, doesn't mean the sun always shined.
Ludicrous. Four points from 3 away games would be very satisfactory indeed. Remember, Burnley and Wigan were expecting to beat us too. Its not our fault some people on here get so carried away that they start predicting crazy outcomes like 9 points from three away games. That's childs play that is.
It's about attitude. We should set out to win every game, rather than to avoid defeat. I don't mind if we lose trying to win. Three wins and three defeats from six games is 50% better than six draws.
So by that rationale, if we set out to win all three and lost all three 3-2 each gaining zero points, you'd be happier than getting the two we got?
Spot on KPD. We have 28 points from 13 games, I really think Saturday's game will be very difficult and one we may well lose as McLaren knows all our weaknesses. Even if we do lose it we would still be averaging two points a game which is promotion form. If we'd been offered two points from each of our first 14 matches at the start of the season we'd have snapped their hand off, we're right in the mix and improving steadily...
