Don't care what they say, it's the engineers and the boards opinion with what matters and so far he doesn't have the shine he once had at Ferrari. For 3 years now he has failed to lead the team towards a fast car which does not chew it's tyres up with an unlimited budget. All he has lead this team into is dead avenues and silver bullets like DDRS which RBR can develop better with half the time and resources. The guy is a liability like Nick Fry! The only performance we got was from an illegal tyre test and apart from that we have sucked on Sunday compared with like likes of Lotus who are struggling for money. Brawn had his chance and he did fk all with it after his pet project Brawn GP. Lowe/Wolff/Lauda are already doing a better job than Brawn and we are starting to see performance on Sundays as well as Saturdays... You can have him Forza Same goes for Nico and Lewis, stop moping around and crack the **** on and beat RBR or pack your bags and leave!
Brawn would do a a lot better if the parent companies would leave him to get on with the job he was given, rather that interfering and doing the hiring that he should be doing. As for Lauda... What makes anybody think he'll be any more useful than at Jaguar racing? Tossing out Brawn is foolish IMO.
Willis, Costa and Bell were all chosen by Brawn and Haug themselves, nothing happened over the 2 years (2011-2012) apart from 1 win and a few podiums so he failed to direct their skills properly. It was the Mercedes board who got in Lauda, who then got in Wolff, Hamilton and Lowe and we finally got to see some decent performance for once. Brawn can stay if he wants but his roll of TP must be limited from now on as it's clear he cannot handle the responsibility fully anymore. Sometimes Brawn needs his hand held it seems to hire the correct people, tough luck if his ego was bruised. IMO he has done a poor job leading Mercedes as without fail in previous years our performance would plummet at Canada and we would start getting beat by the likes of Force India, Toro Rosso, Williams and Sauber which is unacceptable. Brown nosing aside ever since the board and Lauda took charge this year our performance has VASTLY improved over a season and our development rate has tripled and we can now closely compete with RBR, in fact we are the only team that can out develop them now.
RBR are light years away from everyone else on the grid, and while Ferrari and McLaren are going backwards, Mercedes are actually moving forward. Causing upheaval within the team right now could not only halt this progress, it could reverse it. Let the team finally have some stability under Brawn's leadership and he will bring success. The team has more chance of closing in on RBR under his leadership over Lauda IMO.
Lauda, Wolff, Lowe and Hamilton would've had next to no input on this year's car. Hamilton is the only one who can claim credit. Lowe designed this year's heap of **** McLaren and Mercedes performances have tailed off since he joined. Costa, Bell and Willis designed this year's car.
Can't really argue with that... but that might not be true going forward given their inability to secure themselves financially. Brawn is a proven winner, he's won titles with three constructors in the last 20 years, and giving him up for an unproven Wolff is silly to me. It seems like a 'Jobs for the boys' scenario. If Brawn goes elsewhere and succeeds, Merc are going to have a class A ostrich egg on their face. I'm pretty annoyed about it tbh. Edit: If he goes to Macca and takes Hamilton with him... I'd be less annoyed.
