Roly has made some good points there. Ultimately we, as supporters, have been disenfranchised and emasculated. It's the same for Chelsea, Sunderland, Man U or us - almost any top team, in fact.

Ashley has made, and will continue to make, an enormous number of terrible decisions. That's because he seems to revel in not playing by the rules of formality or decency - and in these days of ultra-liberal capitalism it's not hindered him one bit.
So long as his wealth is protected and he has complete control of his empire, he really doesn't care one jot; in fact I think he gets off on trampling over convention and those that question him.

And you know what? There's nothing we can do about it without damaging the club significantly. All we can hope for is that someone of better character makes him an acceptable offer for the club. Unbelievably, there have been much worse owners
in football (think Charlton about 25 years ago, Portsmouth, or Coventry today) and we could be worse off. Whatever anyone says, Ashley has put the club on an even keel financially; Shepherd and Hall had built the club on sand and were paying themselves handsomely for doing so - and don't forget Hall was only too happy to sell out to Ashley.

So do the authorities care? No - they are part of the problem. FIFA would rather see the same national teams dominate ad infinitum. UEFA has a ring of protection around the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, ManU and Juventus. They are like a private members club and only care to admit new members who come with wads of cash and brown envelopes. It's no accident that the new super wealthy clubs are based in the multi-millionaire playgrounds of Monaco, Paris, Malaga and Chelsea.
FIFA were happy to overlook Qatar's penchant for slavery, it's climate, it's tiny population and it's lack of football heritage, for…..well, a skyscraper full of dosh.

So we are left hoping against hope.

Yeah but we don't care about them mate, save Luton who I like to see do well and deserve some luck after all the **** they have been through in recent years.

Luton seems an odd team to take an interest in, do you have a special reason for it?

Haven't been to Kenilworth Road in what seems an eternity.

I think they're playing at the International Stadium on the 2cnd Nov.

Think Gateshead have dropped their prices to try and attract more people to the games.

What time is everybody hitting town tonight?

Think I'll be setting off shortly to have a snack and a couple of drinks.

Not many redheads there. A very large Asian community.

Of course Supermac played for them before Joe Harvey brought him up here.

    Quite a strike record.

Never liked Luton. 3 reasons: Mrs Thatcher's favourite team, plastic pitch of old and a remarkably unappealing town. Feel way more sorry for Cov.

My brother supports them. Hopefully they get promoted this season. I have a good feeling John Still will get them up either this season or the next. Getting relegated three years running then losing in the conference playoffs three times running - twice in the final is too much pain for one team! They did win the JPT though during those years, a very good day I must say and one their fans deserve.

Gateshead have Mills now. My brother and most Luton fans aren't fans of his - mainly because as York manager he rarely lost a game to them.

In a hotel full of Mackems. Our Sunderland office is down and I'm getting Derby day abuse here. Outnumbered 32-1 right now.
