For the 2 - 4 years he was at his best when he was with us, I really believe he was a genuine World Class player. His performances in Europe gave some solid basis for this, even though him being Stanley didn't get him the regular place in the England squad that should have been his on his playing ability alone.

Ronaldo is an absolutely fantastic player, always improving as others have commented. Him playing is enough for me to watch a team I have no other interest in, he's electric to watch, and I don't really care how good or bad his sense of humour is. I seen him laugh so it cannot be totally lacking! Blatter has pulled enough bad trcks in his all too long career, that I have every sympathy with anyone getting p*ssed off with him. He should have been out of that job years ago. It was a weak joke in a bad setting that would have been funnier directed at his own poor Bobby C / Ralph Coates imitation.

The point is not whether Ronaldo is a great footballer (which he is) or whether Blatter is a complete a-hole (which he is). It's whether Ronaldo can take a very, very minor joke at his expense. Which he can't .....and which therefore speaks volumes about his personality.

And this sort of holier than thou political correctness drives me mad.

Granted, Ronaldo is a fantastically gifted footballer, although not as good as Messi IMO, AND he's not a twat, he's a ****.

Your mother is obviously a good judge of character.
