Fair play to the police. For there to be only 20 arrests (3 NUFC supporters) out of a near 50,000 crowd (plus those around the ground) is a fantastic statistic.

Just three Newcastle United fans were among the 20 people arrested at Sunday’s Wear-Tyne derby.
And one is now due to appear in court, charged with breaching a football banning order.
Police have praised the majority of supporters for their behaviour before, during and after the game, at the Stadium of Light.
But a total of 20 people were arrested, four of whom have now been charged.
Toon fan Christopher Miller, 26, of Coppice Way, Shieldfield, Newcastle, was one of seven people arrested in a pre-planned operation on Sunday morning. He has been charged with breaching the conditions of his football banning order and will appear at Newcastle Magistrates Court in December.
Another Newcastle United supporter, Jamie Tenet, 31, of Elm Street, Jarrow, was arrested during the match.
He was charged with being drunk and disorderly and disorderly, and will appear before Sunderland Magistrates Court next month.
Meanwhile SAFC fans Ryan Kilbey, 22, of Woodstone Village, County Durham, and John Dinsdale, 46, Concord, Washington, were both charged with being drunk in a sports ground.
They will also come before Magistrates in Sunderland in November.
Six other men, aged 18 to 57 and from Sunderland and County Durham were arrested before the match.
One was questioned on suspicion of violent disorder and the other four on suspicion of conspiracy to commit violent disorder, before being released on bail.
During the match a further 10 men, aged 20 to 31, were arrested.
These suspects, are from Sunderland, Washington, Houghton-le-Spring, Hartlepool and County Durham.
They were questioned over offences including affray, being drunk and disorderly, common assault and going onto the playing area, before being bailed.
Northumbria Police’s Chief Supt Steve Neill, who was in charge of Derby Day policing, said: “Chief Supt Steve Neill said: “The vast majority of fans were well behaved today and enjoyed the Wear Tyne derby for the great occasion that it is.
“Twenty arrests out of crowd of that size is very low. I’m pleased that the vast majority of fans who attended today were clearly there to enjoy the football and were not interested in causing trouble.”

Well done the police too, they let things go as much as they could and weren't overly heavy handed.

If there is footage of the fans who chucked the coins and seats from your section onto the Sunderland fans below, there could be more arrests to follow..

No sympathy for those idiots, they deserve everything they get.

All the guys I spoke to coming home on the Metro all said the same thing.

    Hope theres footage of this...

So did the lads who climbed up manage to get inside the box and give the mags a good kicking or not??

Hope they did tbh... why take the piss at someone elses ground when your not in the away section... *****

(nah. Not sure if they managed to lock the door or what but the bloke hammering on the window couldn't get in. He noticed the stewards legging it up the stairs so hopped back over the wall and into the crowd.)

Someone climbed up a couple of year ago, punched a couple of mags all over.

    BTW...
    Just for the record...

How very dare you! Seriously, no - never had any relations on the books at Gallowgate. As for the lads asking about Paddy Barlcay, he does often take the contrary view and it's not a bad trick for a journalist - especially a columnist - to master. Of course you have to be able to justify it, not simply do it for effect.
One of my esteemed early Fleet Street colleagues was Mike Langley on The People, a quite brilliant columnist who could have written for Quality, Mid-market or red-top audiences - he'd often take the side of an argument that would, on first glance, appear to have little merit. It often made for magnificent pieces.
Mind you, he once did a piece on The Lads which hit the mark with both me and Neville Holtham, The People's then excellent sports editor, who was also a Sunderland fan.
I can still see it now. Mike's intro began:-
You can always tell a Sunderland fan - but he'll never listen... <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

Bastard! Great line, though... I must recycle it sometime and aim it at the great unwashed!...<doh> <doh> <doh>

You've just got to try and put yourself in his place and read it very slowly.

He is a person who seems to be very troubled with a lot of issues, so I will try and avoid his padded cell if you don't mind..
