That was the Watney Cup, does it count?

We got to the FA Cup semis in 1930, losing to Arsenal.

The championship/division 2 is lower league and you won't get to the final with reserves.

What about the F.A. Cup? Would you, if in Jan you're sitting pretty, take that competition seriously?

For me, if you can't play the odd midweek cup game, then you're not fit enough to play professional football. Winning breeds confidence, confidence gets results.

When referring to the 'lower leagues', people are not normally referring to the Championship, if they were, it would constitute 97% of our existence.

    Exactly.

98 seasons and you've spent 3 in the top league, 95 in the lower leagues.

Well no, people would generally say that any league lower than the top league is a 'lower league'.

So Leicester City have spent most of their existence in the lower leagues?

    Have you told Proud? <laugh>

    Absolutely.

But if you want to twist it around and go by your definition of 'lower league', you're looking at less than 1%.

Don't you just love it when jealous fans of other clubs come on here and start bigging up passed semi-glories?

    How sad is that?

    <laugh>

I'm only asking if you think you've got a chance of winning a trophy. Simple as that, because I believe you do.

    ****ing hell.

I've not bigged up anything to do with Leicester winning any trophies.

Don't you just love it when people get so worked up over nothing?

    How sad is that? <laugh>

For once, Tickler can actually 'whoosh' you and it would make sense <laugh>

Quite recently yes, and we were robbed of a semi-final appearance by Arsenal. But you are of course right, we're incredibly **** in the cups, the League Cup in particular.

Back to the point, I think you might be wrong OLM. I reckon Bruce would love to put a weak side out but can we really afford to do that away to Tottenham? I know he won't mind losing but can we afford to get absolutely battered without even trying? I think there might be some pressure on us to at least turn up and give it a go. Plus with our current injury situation we don't have much to choose from anyway so a first XI is pretty much all we have. Neither outcome would really surprise me, I just don't think it's as certain as you're suggesting.

I understood what you said, but i don't think we're quite rady for a push for cup glory.

Our squad has weakened in the past week- i don't know what they're doing in training.

You said about winning breeding confidence- if we win the next two we should be sky high.

Realisitcally, all our attention, at the moment, should be on getting through to christmas, and hopefully having around 18-20 points on board. The league is deffo priority this season.

We've got 8 league games before Christmas, and three of them are Sunderland, Palace and Stoke at home. Don't you think hoping for 7-9 points from those 8 games is setting your sights a little low?

9 points from the 8 games should surely be an absolute minimum requirement - we should be aiming for about 13.

I believe Bruce's desire to beat to Sunderland on Saturday will absolutely drive tonight's team selection.

I don't like to get ahead of myself, to be honest. Means i won't get too disappointed.

Doesn't mean i don't think we're capable of getting more than that.

Leicester will get further in the League Cup than we will. I just can't see us winning tonight sadly.
