I've got a theory why our cup draws are fixed: The FA were so embarrassed about a team that was in administration getting to the FA Cup final 2010 that they've decided to make it so we can't get that far by giving us rubbish draws in the first round of a competition so we get knocked out before we build up any momentum.

Don't know what they have against Farnborough though.

Didn't we have a run of something like 12 consecutive home draws.

    Conclusion: the FA support Saints.

Apparently the odds of a team getting 12 consecutive home cup draws, based on a 50% chance of getting an home tie, is 16,000 to one.

Conclusion: Saints have the FA in their pocket.

Our defence has had so many things in their pockets this season, I wouldn't be surprised to find the FA in there.

But of course. As one of the few top-flight teams making any attempt to develop English talent, the FA knows where its bread is buttered.

And if we put buttered toast in our pocket, then...this pun thing isn't for me.

It finished Weymouth 1-2 Braintree on the road to Wembley.

Braintree are at home to Newport County in Round One.

    There are seven all-non-league ties

Aldershot are out - beaten at home by Shortwood Utd of the Southern League DivisionOne South and West, 3 divisions below them.

The Woods are rewarded with a home tie against Port Vale.

With Stevenage v Pompey having its own thread, here's the place for other FA Cup material.

Coventry are the first team into Round Two after coming from behind to beat AFC Wimbledon. Bristol Rovers and York are the first "either/or" number in the hat after sharing six goals at the Memorial Stadium.

There are two early kick-offs today. Grimsby v Scunthorpe at 1pm and Boreham Wood v Carlisle at 2.

The Road to Wembley fixture is Braintree v Newport, which is one of the 3pm kick-offs.

The Road to Wembley sees Braintree or New port travel to Kidderminster in Round Two, while in the Jim Bowen fixture (this is what you would have won), Stevenage are at home to Stourbridge
