Would you rather be palace supporter right now, bottom of the league, no proper manager, raging halitosis, another 6 months of misery, embarrassment and ridicule.

Or us, nearly at the bottom of the league, no proper manager, beer breath, and possible 6 months of misery, embarrassment and ridicule.

I've always said, there's no point in going up for a season, if you think football for a fiver is bad, you imagine the absolute scuffed plimsoll mob that would turn up at the valley, wondering why our goalkeeper has repetitive strain syndrome and if it's possible to kill yourself on bovril.

I personally think we are in a better situation ,albeit slightly, than Palace. I have a bet on at work that palace won't get more than 20 points this season-with a palace supporter, who says they won't get more than 15.

Palace will bring a lot of money with them when they drop back to the championship next season.

Right now - I'd rather be us. Purely because my palace supporting mates are completely demotivated. But that could change, depending on who they bring in as manager. And as ken says, next season they will be in a healthy position.

I would never want to be a Palace supporter, in the same way that I would never want to be a traffic warden or work in a slaughter house.

I would never want to be a Palace fan, in the same way that I would never want to be a vegetarian or a Lib Dem.

As someone who quite likes vegetarian food but is not vegetarian and evaluates people and policies rather than being tied to party dogma of any colour I am free to choose who I support and locally nowadays could easily choose to be a supporter of Cambridge United.

However, many years ago I nailed my colours to a mast near the old Woolwich dockyard and have not been tempted by glory nor shaken by defeat or the taunts of lions or eagles, knowing them to be hyenas or over inflated crows.

Should we go down we will still be in a better position than the crows since we can hold our head up and be proud of who we are. We may be paupers but we can look at the stars whilst the spendthrifts look towards the debtors prison the number of players they have brought in on premiership wages eroding their financial viability.

Palace's situation looks a bit like ours did in the Dowie/Reed/pardew season. I don't know much about all these players they've bought. Their wages could end up swallowing all the parachute money next season.
I like a lot of veggie food too.

I would rather have bad breath brought on from being drunk and having a good time rather than a medical condition........

Joking aside.....under no circumstances would I want to be a Palace supporter and the solace I have got from ridiculing the two I have to sit with at work has been a beacon of light so far this season.......
