09 Jun 2011 13:57:40 Wigan are preparing a 1m bid for Scott Loach. They have been alerted to Watford's financial woes and are looking to replace Al Habsi who is being priced out of a move from Bolton.
http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/watford-blackburn-come-houston-dynamo-target-riordan-1685201 "Free agent Derek Riordan is now being tracked by English Championship club Watford" Interesting...
We've realised the cash we need until next summer from transfers so Wigan can go and take a jump if that stories true. Question on Loach is what is he worth now versus January versus next summer. I hope he's at a low at the moment and will put in the required performances this season to get his value up there for a move to the prem next summer.
i agree with that Aberdeen...i can't see him getting top dollar now, but we've seen he has it in him...
Absolutely Aberdeen - surely even Baz is not going to sell players for any small amount - far less than their long term worth
Young has agreed terms; http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11677_6979494,00.html So now it's just down to how much - with figures reported between £16m and £20m - but still a very nice windfall for us!
Can't remember who was talking about it, and in which thread, but with regards to players playing cricket matches in the close season... there is a Watford Legends team playing Old Abanian CC tonight; http://www.stalbansreview.co.uk/sport/hertssport/9071420.Watford_Legends_set_to_play_Old_Albanian/ Might be a bit late notice for many though....
Came across this article from ooppp north. Mr.B did say that they still wanted him at the Vic. http://anthonyvickers.boroblogs.co.uk/2011/06/its-quiet-out-t.html
I know my eyes are weak but can anyone else NOT find DG on this list? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13600908.stm
Zen, I think it's because Danny is still on holiday.... while the fee and his terms are agreed, he hasn't actually signed so therefore not actually gone through! He will sign on his return!
Great team eh Kev.... Alan Mayes was worth watching in those days gone by..... not sure he had it for the championship though ...
Alan Mayes, why did we ever sell him to Swindon. Anyhow, interesting.... Fulham are pushing former Newcastle boss Chris Hughton for an answer on whether he wants to become Martin Jol's assistant manager. Hughton has delayed his decision because he is waiting to hear if he has landed the managerial position at Cardiff.
I read that as well Zen. It came from the Daily Mail, but how much of a decent track record the paper has I don't know.
