Suggestions please, nothing too expensive (preferably for nothing) 2 children 4 & 5, not too big, needs to be a man dog as i'll end up walking it so suitable for a butch name like dave or rodney or summat
Get your self to one of the many dog rescue centres. Take the kids and watch the dogs reactions to the kids and vise versa. Make sure you get honest answers from the staff on temperament. You will probably end up with a cross, but they can be the most loving. Careful going too big they can cost a fortune to feed.
Yeah mate. You'll get a gorgeous staffy cross pup from one of them. They're over bread and great with kids. Look on the websites, they always have pictures of some of the pups available.
Definitely. The thing is with pups too young you have no idea what they are going to turn into. Anything from Benji to ScoobyDoo. Sometimes the size of their paws can be a clue. My last dog that died not so long back, we got as a pup it had huge paws. As he cost £600 we knew exactly what we were getting. A huge German Shepherd with the best temperament I have ever seen in a big dog.
Giz a hint mate in the sunderland area German shepherd/alsation before birth of a child a big no no, after maybe different, big dogs
I know marra, wasnt digging back, just thinking about getting the bairns a dog for life not just for xmas
We've always had German Shepherds. If you can get one from a rescue home it'll be the kids best friend and will always protect you and your family. I can't recommend them highly enough. Pups from breeders are a fortune though.
Last dog I had was a bull mastiff. They're not as big as mastiffs and it had the best temperament of any dog I've ever owned. They do slobber though and still rather big.
Lurcher's are great with kids, very protective and simple to look after. They just want to please all the time. My favourite dogs are Border Collies. Clever as fook but need constant stimulation otherwise they'll trash your house just from boredom.
Get yersel a 'Pardew' dog like Mike Ashley has. They're toothless, easy to train and endlessly amusing ........
English springer spaniel.. always had springers as as a kid and the missus bought me one a few weeks after she gave birth to our son. There is literally a week between the two of them and they are best friends. He's pulled her left right and centre and she never retaliates at all. She's very protective and at the same time very loving. Springers are just amazing dogs.
