Being modest, and not a group in the habit of blowing our own trumpet, I will accept an independent survey that places us in the top three. I am sure many more surveys will in the future place us first , just like previous surveys and posts .
"You'll Never Walk Alone" is from the 1950's musical Carousel. Liverpool fans hijacked it and the Celtic fans hijacked it from them. Ineterestingly Glasgow and Liverpool have a name for being stealers. How apparent.
Erinblack, nice wee post, it's just a pity it's not true. You never walk alone was song in Celtic Park from the early sixties . When Liverpool played Celtic in the Cup winners Semi Final in the mid sixties the Liverpool fans liked the Celtic fans singing of YNWA , that they started singing it as well. Erinback you should try to get the fleece out of your ears, it is a real give away.
Liverpool celebrated 50 years of singing you'll never walk alone on Saturday,do we have a date it was first sung ???
Liverpool not for the first time are jumping the gun and rewriting history . Have they any proof of singing it in October 1963. The sheep man quoting from an English publication , hasn't necessary got the facts either. It has often been the English way to ignore or belittle Scotland's input to anything. One thing is certain Erinblack is that in your part of the Country, the men do walk alone when out after their sheep. Erinblack why did you bring up this never walking alone' thing' . Was it jealousy of another Celtic Fan award.
Perhaps because the article specifically referred to it? "With regard to Celtic, the magazine say about You'll Never Walk Alone "If this hymn is adored by "Scousers" of Liverpool, at Celtic Park in Glasgow they have a cappella version which is better.""
