I've been one of his biggest critics when he's played in midfield, but yesterday he was fantastic. My hats off to you Jack, man of the match for me, you kept Tiote and Cabeye very quiet and even looked good going forward. Difficult to criticise any of our players, they were all up for it but Colback stood out.
Bit surprised he didn't get MOTM. I was very impressed with Altidore's reaction to both goals though.
Never saw either mate, was too busy jumping about like a daft twat (until I fell over) I've recorded it so will have to watch it again.
I have constantly said he doesn't have enough to make it as a top level cm player in the EPL. I may have to reconsider after yesterday. He was our best player by a mile.
He is an engine, creativity dies a bit but him and Catts in the middle would help dissolve any attack coming towards us Replace Larsson with a fast winger and it could be interesting!
He just rolled his sleeves up and got stuck in for 90+ minutes! loved it and pleased to be proved wrong about him. My only concern was that at first look, he seems better than Dossena at LB.
Seb was good for the game yesterday. His defensive contribution shouldn't be overlooked But for other games, we do need a fast winger like you said, maybe two
The lad is developing with the same timing Jordan is (Bally's fine work no doubt). A run of games in midfield will see jack get better and better i reckon, especially besides Catts. They looked very very good together whack ki in front of them then i think a front 3 will get all the service it needs.
Blood hell that's impressive! I actually agree with most of that team too. Torres looks back to his old self.
If Dossena is to keep his place, that leaves Colback to fight it out with several other players.... Decisions eh.
You can't beat a hard ginger lad LOL hopefully the fans what don't rate him in CM have egg on there faces.
So what happens if Dossena gets injured? Bardo or Colback i pressume. JACK COLBACK wants to bring down the curtain on his stint as a makeshift left-back by re-establishing himself in the middle of the park. Colback started in central midfield for the first time since February in Sunday’s Wear-Tyne derby and rewarded Gus Poyet’s faith by shining in the 2-1 triumph over the Magpies. Poyet’s predecessor Paolo Di Canio had decided to permanently re-brand Colback as a left-back after the academy product filled in there sporadically during Martin O’Neill’s tenure. But while Colback was content to appear in defence, the 24-year-old remained eager to return to his boyhood position of midfield. Following his appointment, new head coach Poyet immediately told Colback that he considered him a midfielder and that was music to the ears of the Tynesider, who hopes his days at full-back are behind him. Colback told the Echo: “Midfield is my position. “A lot of people have asked me where is my position and it’s obvious I’m not a left-back. “I filled in there, but I’ve never been a left-back. “I’m a midfielder and that’s where I want to be, so hopefully I can get a run in the team there. “The manager didn’t even have to ask. He said he knew I wasn’t a left-back, although I don’t know whether that was a compliment or not! “But he said I’m going to be playing midfield and now it’s up to me to show I’m good enough in training and in games.”
We've been through this chief and you realised you were wrong then as well. I'm not Irish, I've been to Dublin once for a weekend, my parents aren't Irish. Unless you think my name's Patrick you're making a twat of yourself like you did last time.
Yeah grand parents and great grand parents backwards. I suppose you can trace your family history as all English back to Boudica? All English?
