I agree. I think Cerny offered something to this Board. In a kind of pantomime villain kind of way. He was out of order but should be allowed back if he apologizes. He's served his time. I thought Oddball might have agreed but he's been tamed by the public meetings. Not the same poster he used to be. Not his fault mind you, its inevitable when you meet folk face to face you don't want to offend them on here. It creates a brand new dimension to the dynamics on the Forum. It was always going to happen as the Board evolved but its my tuppence-worth as to why things have gone a bit flat on here over the last few months. Its still a great Board populated by great people but there's a dual personality amongst posters now (real life and cyber) that wasn't there in the beginning and its changed the dynamic forever. Its brought the Board to a "Real World" level which is disappointing in my view considering a lot of people logged on here to escape that and engage in something different. But that's just my theory. Could be totally wrong.
Have we just gone back in time because I seem to re-call reading this from Swords a few months ago......... If anything the meeting of posters has in my view strengthened the board as you know who you are talkiing to, it's like having a chat in a bar and is social.....Swords if you want to be an anonymous key board warrior good luck to you.....personally I don't..... BTW Cerny was banned by the supermod as explained on numerous occassions by Roller, he is not/will not be allowed back......
This explains why you have gratuitously insulted posters on here when they post things you disagree with or you may suspect they are acting under an assumed user name. It doesn't make any difference, you just love being able to do it...
Oh that's what it says, is it? Look, I don't expect you to like what I posted and that's fine but I'm sorry, that's not what I was saying. My point is that the Board has evolved, inevitably in the subdued direction - which happens to be the opinion of the OP and the subject of this thread. Various people have proffered theories as to why that might be and I've given mine. It mightn't be the most popular thing to say but its an honest opinion. You don't agree. That's fair enough.
Fair enough, I respect your opinion. But I do think the Board has lost something as a result. We'll have to agree to disagree. (BTW, whether you want to recognize it or not, that's exactly what you wanted when you and everyone else signed up here in the first place!)

Whilst I dont necc agree with all this post mate, I think you do make a valid point. The board has changed evolved over time due to a number of factors. Metting each other and the greta Brix tradgedy are just 2 incidents that have had an effect. Also Tarbs leaving, redknapp joining & us getting relegated and starting to win again have all played thier part. Im not saying its a good or bad thing, just that things have changed, posters come & gone & i dont think we'll ever have those same circumstances again. just like COLIN and the NPC winning team. I personally find this board a bit quieter and "Tamer" than it was previously and I appologise if that offended but i cant think of another word. I think there is a bit of a spark missing but this has been replaced with a wider sense of "family" i suppose & this could be down to the above issues. One this is for certain, Cerny is still here but wont ever be allowed back. Not my decision nor am i going to question it. I think he truely burnt his bridges and his "other self" is a much better read. Anyway, just my opinion for what its worth...SFA

This was a post aimed at a Mod's response on one of our threads. He also on this thread.. Racially abused and insulted Beth, and insulted Brixton with abuse and colourful language. Prior to this he was on the Swans board arranging 'meets' with the incite of violence. Even after being given the chance to redeem himself and apologise, he took the option not to, and continued along in the same vein until it was all brought to a not so abrupt halt by the powers that be. Alas, needless to say.. We all miss him, top top poster. Triffic lad. Btw here is a quick reiteration of the board rules... PART 1: THE RULES (continued) 4. To an outsider of these, who hasn't or can't make them, it might appear that these 'meets' are hunky dory, brotherly love affairs. They're not. Although there is a mutual respect between us all. ( We're very much the same tbh ) I have still witnessed people who have met in real life not see eye to eye on here, and I'm quite surprised to witness their degree of confrontation on this board. Regardless of whether posters have met or not, they will still disagree if someone makes an invalid point. This all boils down to character, if your a passive poster you will remain so as much as an active one does. Regardless if you have met in the real world. As for your observations about DT, I can assure you that he is very much his own man whether that be on here or down the pub. In fact here's a video of him walking into the Crown & Sceptre... Meeting our Irish brothers being one, and the solace that this brought to Brixton's family being a notable other. As for our board becoming 'Prosaic' or anything else, I notice that the posters who proffer this sentiment remain here. Despite the numerous other QPR sites that are out there that may possibly offer them more than what they seemingly seek on here.
Cerny was an awful poster. He never gave a genuine opinion on football, it was all daily updates on the minutiae of his life. That, and insulting people for unsuccessful suicide attempts... Any vaguely positive post was inevitably a sycophantic attempt at currying favour with someone. The days of this site being Cerny's playground are not ones I'd ever like to go back to
That's a great post Queens. Thanks for your efforts. I think you make some very valid points as to why things are different. I personally think it's down to the evolution of our posters but as you point out the sad passing of Brix has had a great effect on here. He was a one off and I, nor anyone else, I don't think, can have an influence in such a way as he conducted things on here. I and others who have now followed in his footsteps have since unfortunately missed out on his mentoring and stewardship.
I for one praised Cerny or whatever incarnation he chose, on his ability to reform and contribute to our board. He did make an effort but that sadly ceased when he apparently preferred 'death by cop.' He had his chance, but decided his own demise. In hindsight, the board is better off without him. I think that this goes for all posters. Post away but play by the rules. If you want to stick your head above the parapet then that is your choice, and yours alone.

We are a bit of a one dimensional lot though aren't we!! Even here, where we have a thread about the board being a tad quiet of late, it then becomes a need to discuss something that has been and gone. My thoughts, I know that I for one would love to come on here more often than I do but its just that the last 4/5 months work has become irrationaly busy. Those that I speak to in similar circles are stating the same. I think it's just that Business is starting to pick up and the conglomorates have got what they wanted in all this .. which was to increase productivity!! I would also like to state that I cannot and will not (and we could win the Champions League) have too much love for these players and the whole back room - I admire you lot for being the unforgiving bunch that you are - I just cant forgive this lot who are the ones still with us: TF for being a complete arse - Keeping NW when he wanted someone else right from the start, employing the completely useless Beard and Hughes and generally babbling his crap on Twitter. Green - For laughing when we conceded Cesar - For not giving a **** during the Villa match and compunding it by wearing a Chelsea shirt! Hill & Derry - For being wind up merchants last year and being the leaders of the we were here first, we got them up and now we're being payed less club. Barton - Because he is a thoroughly nasty person whom I so wish to have our beloved club disaocciated with Redknapp - For being at best an incompetent "loveable rogue, story telling" fool, at worst conniving, conspiring, cheat, thief and liar. And many, many more - I think I would just like things done with a bit of class, if you go down - go down like Blackpool, if you go up go up like Southampton, if you're going to have a manager - have a manager like Martinez or Laudrup.
