He says the right things, but three bad departures in three days is not good, he must be doing something wrong :(

Does anyone hate the way he calls transfers 'player trading'? It's really annoys me for some reason...

As my geography teacher used to right on my essays "waffle" the key to good PR and getting the team on side is empathy, put yourself in the readers mind Mr B. This has not addressed any concerns just trying to put a positive spin on a falkirk guy coming in to replace Stephenson. Not a bit regarding JW, no news is bad news if it were good a statement such as "I thank Julian for getting us to this position where we are about to embark on the next exciting phase of Watfords development into a top 30 club and wish him well in his new challenge as xxxxxxxxxxx" etc etc but no not a dicky bird makes one think its not good terms this parting.

Players are the only thing he can trade according to terms of his takeover!

"While there's the down-side to losing talented players, it does mean the club has a little more time and funds than usual to identify, target and recruit new additions to our squad - rather than being forced to wait until late on in the transfer window."

"to recruit the next wave of players"

    -------------

Least he seems to be saying that we're bringing players in. But I agree - no thank you to JW doesn't seem right. Kind of suggests something must have gone wrong behind the scenes. This Ross Wilson guy seems "interesting"

He says what he wants to say, but nothing to set fan's minds at rest. Why for example did JW go?

Now do a proper interview with the WO and answer some questions.

Yes, the reference to Mr Wilson in the piece is a bit of a smokescreen for the bad news of Winters departure. Wilson is a 29 year old replacement for John Stephenson as head of football development, responsible for the recruitment system and dealing with agents etc. An important role no doubt and good luck to the young man. He will bring good knowledge of the Scottish football scene , which could be good for us since that is where we recruit. But it is not a board level appointment and he has no financial management skills. Who will be the new CEO is the key thing. If Mr B himself then......

The BBC finally picked up on JW leaving and have a quote from Bassini at the bottom stating:

"Bassini said: "Watford Football Club should always be eternally grateful for the huge contribution which Julian has made in his five years here."

He added: "I would like to wish him every success in the future. Julian will always be a welcome guest at Vicarage Road."

Thats just an extract from the club website yesterday. I think the new CEO will be Panos Thomas and the post will be unpaid but we'll see. Could be Bassini but he cant pay himself more than the highest salaried employee already in the organisation excluding players.

I suspect that Nick Cox and Ross Wilson are in store for generous annual settlements from here on in.

Here's a tweet from the club:

As well as today's article, LB has also answered some questions posed by my friend @Observer_Owl. They'll appear first in tomorrow's WO.

He has in fairness played up the one good side to Graham and Buckley going early if they were going to be sold. But that places pressure on a new chief executive being in place very quickly to help out with negotiations (unless Sir Taylor is going to temporarily step in on the player trading front), and on a couple of new players being here for the first day of pre-season training.

You are so right. As someone who had to restructure a failing company, I quickly learnt that you have to keep the employees and customers on side. I started with the employees, keeping them informed on what I was doing and why. Once they had the message, as first point of contact, it then became possible to speak with the customers and show them that although there would be some changes they would benefit from them.

All good PR you might say, but it was more than that. It was a new road that I wanted everyone to walk along with me. It meant being dead honest, not trying to hide things and say one thing while doing another. I was prepared to put some of my money into the company to show that if it didn't work I would lose out as well as the other shareholders.

None of this I see from Mr.B. He does not want to take people with him, otherwise he would have told us by now where he thinks he is going. Maybe he doesn't know!

Good news IF Malky is allowed some more money to invest back into the squad.

As said Bas will have to get fans onside PDQ!

Sorry not buying it Baz , I can smell the BS from here (unless the farmers are muck spreading again)!
Where is this influx of new players trying to bash the door down to join our sinking ship? two players already gone a trusted CEO gone, and as yet no proper replacements!

OFH agreed if you manage anything fairly and honestly ,with good communication, make your self accessible and trustworthy ,then you are well on the way to some success! Now then Baz being fair, doesn`t look like it at the mo! Honest, failed there at best economical with the truth! Lousy at communicating with the fans.
    No need to go on!

BAz seems to employ all the hallmarks of the traditional conman - tells you nothing of substance but promises that in a little while you will like what is happening - just don't try to tie me down to it
