Spotted it after I'd posted. Think you answered Zingy's question below at the same time.

  4. I still think we'll finish outside the top four <ok>

Obvious fishing attempt in the hope of getting a few snipets for when we inevitably fall down the table. Aston Villa were top for about fourteen or fifteen games a few seasons ago <ok>

Fair enough but what do you think about Martinez...? <whistle>

He looks like a fish out of water to me.

He's struggling to adapt to their mindset, which is the polar opposite of his. As United under Ferguson were very attack minded & would always press on when ahead, looking to kill the game. Moyes has never worked that way, his style is pragmatic, so if you get ahead, you protect what you have - however, it can bite you on the arse. As it did last week when he took Rooney off for Smalling when 1-0 up & they conceded the late equaliser. I can't see United fans accepting this kind of mindset for long, he's simply got to change & I don't think he will.

The problem for Moyes is that at Everton he was always commended for doing a good job with a thin squad and a £29.50 transfer budget every year. At Utd he has no such constraints and the expectations are much higher.
As you say, he needs to change his mind-set, he needs to become a winner rather than a survivor.

When have fans 'dare not say' anything?

It's nice being proved wrong when the result matters more than individual opinion. I don't pay much attention to Everton other than results and RM is certainly doing the biz there. Moyes is in a job far too big for him - I think the notion of promoting people to just one step above their capability and let them develop is pretty sound if you have faith in the individual, but for Moyes it's 1 step beyond [there's a song in there somewhere, the singers of which sum up nicely Moyes at utd]!

Without the League Cup (or whatever it's called) and European games (not taking the p1ss here), I guess you will have an advantage when other teams around you in the league start having heavy fixture congestion.

Probably your best opportunity in a while to finish in a decent position in the league......not that I want you too, of course.

The Peter Principle cites this as the reason there is so much incompetence in high office. People are constantly promoted through the hierarchy until they reach a level beyond their ability.

Id be happy with finishing with more points than last year. That shows improvement.

Top 4 would be awesome as that means we might get to keep our current crop and bring in others who want to play at the highest level.

I wont think about the title until we have played an beaten, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs and Everton.

If we play them off of the park, win and are top of the table then I will start to believe.

You have to take a chance on people.

Didn't you take a chance on Rodgers? you seem to have done exactly the same thing with him..<whistle>

And he may have taken you to the brink of the big T...

And that puts everything sharply in focus. It won't happen, certainly not x2 for each.
