And breathe, someone get this guy some Valium! Agree with a lot of what your saying, my number one question to the people who want Hughton out is who will you replace him with? If people took a look at the table a win would boost us up to mid table, so it's not as bad as it seems. We do need to start picking up points the next run of games are vital though, I think they will define our season.
Yes, this inconsistency annoys me. As you know, I have been one of the Hughton critics for most of this year, but that was based on the quality of football we played. At times we were worse than Stoke, and that is a pretty strong indictment. But no one can say there hasn't been more attacking intent in the last few games.
I openly stated I would support CH if the manner of how we played was acceptable and was prepared to accept some bad beatings at the hands of the top sides, and this is exactly what has happened since that time, and I stick to it. Maybe we will get relegated, may be we wont, but if we do and the style is as it is now (which does not warrant relegation), I will support him. Should he ever revert back to what we saw at Hull, then I guess I my support will be tested.
Well said, Vietnam. I can understand the dissatisfaction with the style of play earlier in the year, but it seems to me City are now playing the way everybody wants them to. CH can't score the goals, all he can do is set the side up to score them (31 shots, 9 on target, which was more than twice what Spurs managed at home against Hull yesterday). The injuries to Hooper and RvW have held up their 'bedding in' and neither is match-fit at the moment, so that hasn't helped.
Interesting take on the "you don't know what you're doing" brigade. http://sport.bt.com/sportfootball/f...be-careful-what-they-wish-for-S11363844523578
You only have to look at Wolves when they sacked McCarthy. I agree with your post supers. I think booing is pretty ridiculous because it has effect on the team. I do think people are entitled to post their views on here whether positive or negative. I think keeping Hooper on would have been ideal, but I agree in what you say about Elmander. I think he can be really intelligent with his play at times.
I think most rational people on here share your frustration supers. The team are playing some lovely football now, but just lack a bit of confidence in front of goal. These are class strikers we have and soon that class will shine through and the goals will come, I'm convinced of it. Getting rid of hughton would set us back, not improve us, its bleeding obvious to me! Like others i didnt like what I was seeing last year, but no complaints this year at all, the guys just need to get a run going so instead of blasting the ball within a foot or two of the keeper they place the shots a bit more. This will come as confidence goes up and the confidence will go up as the results start to come. Does anyone seriously think sacking the manager is going to boost confidence?
i suggest anyone who thinks booing the team has no effect on them is barking mad. anyone who is on twitter will have seen how angry the players are with the boo boys. it IS effecting them and its detrimental to our chances. yeah yeah, 'i pay good money - i have a right to boo' - sure, if that's the kind of person you are, fine - but you will be paying good money to watch the championship if you carry on with your mindless booing. bloody hell, when you think back to some of the things that we've seen which were genuinely worthy of booing like colchester or fulham, to compare with what happened on saturday or even the villa game which was equally as shameful just shows how moronic these people actually are. and i don't care if the people who did it don't like the word 'moronic' - i'm sorry, but that is the most fitting word to describe you.
good post. lets fast-forward 12 months, i do wonder if we'll look back at some of these posts and wonder what the hell was going on with all these factions. that's how i feel anyway. i think we've got a good side, good manager and decent prospects.
munky - How right you are. There was a 'fan' in front of me who booed at the substitutions and then sat there with a face like thiunder for the rest of the game - if he fels that badly about our performances, then why the heck doesn't he return his season ticket and let someone who wil support the team through thick and thin have it???? I really felt like having a go at him. I'm sure the boo-boys must affect the team and the way they play, but having said that the noise created by the fans in the first half was superb!!! Excellent original post too supers and needed to be said - not sure kio, kemp and carrabuh might agree with you (or most of the other fans who have added to this thread), but I was thinking exactly the same as I left CR on Saturday!!!
Completely agree, players and managers don't need fans booing to know they may not have played well. Saturday we were very good and extremely unlucky. If people have problems with players performance they should post it on here where it won't effect the players. Confidence in the camp is something needed to be successful and booing is completely destroying that.
bottom line is though, we need to start converting these good performances into three points if we're to have a good season. i don't particularly mind if we are set for a season of close proximity to the relegation zone, so long as we survive at the end of it and progress is being made (which i think it is so far) - but i'd prefer the 'good season' option!
and sadly it all comes back to my gut feeling that some fans are deliberately trying to cause problems, sabotage if you like, just so they can get rid of hughton to say to the so-called 'happy-clappers' that 'they were right all along'. if that is right, we have some of the most stupid fans in the country i sincerely hope i am wrong.
And the saddest thing about all that is that the rift between those blessed with intelligence, who can see improvements being made almost match by match and those who have already decided his days are numbered will just continue to fester and grow - to the detriment of our own performances - and hand the initiative straight across to the opposition
I think that labeling everyone who doesn't see things your way ignorant is going a bit far Cromer ! I don't agree with the booing either but I'm not prepared to be called ignorant for wanting changes that I believe will take the club forward rather than festering ! My take on the current situation could & might change things for the better for the team if we had a change of manager/ training team , yours is we stay as we are and sit it out. But I'm respectfully enough not to go insulting you with words or "slap head" signs. This forum is supposed to offer fans of the club the chance to debate( hopefully like adults) differing views of what they see of the team they support, but just lately there seems to be a growing ill feeling towards the people who see things differently. Even our "head mod" seems to have taken to abusing posters in this way, which I think is a gross misuse of there "power". Why don't you form a sticky for the " intelligent" to go on and one for all us ignorant know **** alls to go on so no one gets abused?
It wasn't aimed at you - or anyone in particular, Chippy, just the boo boys who attend matches and attempt to undermine everything the club is trying to achieve by booing performances, substitutions and the timing of them etc. While they're fully entitled to do this if they see fit, it's a bit of a slap in the face for players who have been busting a gut to deliver what they, the very fans who are booing, want. Apologies for any misunderstanding
