Funny thing with Pardew, every derby he gives it big licks about how he 'knows how big it is' and how 'players need to know'. As such, his team end up playing the occasion, and we don't lose these games anymore. He's ****ing mint, I hope he gets an 8 year contract or some crazy ****. Boriniiiiiiiiii
after watching that game..and trying to keep as unbias as I can, how can Pardew say they had 4 "great Chances" in the second half? Yes they had a couple of speculative shots from distance, but other than JoS near own goal, I simply didn't see where they troubled Westwood. I guess he has to say something to appease the geordie nation...........doubt it will cut any ice tho'
Took on a 6 days a week job with a bar mate, that has been very, very challenging and time consuming. Attracting people, devising nights, been doing 80 hours plus a week, getting there now and some time is freeing up. With the pressure, and the woeful nature of the season, I've kinda been blotting football out, even matchdays I've been going through the motions. I needed today.
I'll 100% guarantee that there'll be Mags on here, in the next few weeks, repeating Pardew's ludicrous slaver. Then it will go down in the Geordie Nation's book of rewritten history as 'a game they totally dominated, missed a hatful of chances and lost by a fluke.' Chances Pardew, what chances you idiot? Sunderland 'only offered passion', in a derby .......... whatever next To be honest both teams are poor but we restricted them to 30 yard pop shots because their strike force is so average. Newcastle's 'style' of football is long diagonal balls out to the wings followed by players running across the defensive line looking for free kicks or lashing the ball into the box for attackers scared to put their head in. Pardew's tactics and substitutions were dire but he claims Newcastle were by far the better side ....... ...... he's not right in the head.
Come on we were well unlucky Ameobi shud have had 5, Borini was obviously trying to pass when he inadvertedly scored and we all know ben arfa was the best player on that pitch!!!1111!!!!!!! Tbh if anyone deserved to win it was clearly yous, we haven't looked that awful since last season. Credit to the harrying tactic that totally nullified our attempts to attack, now i'm hoping you get relegated just so i don't have to watch Pards attempt to 'rise to the occasion' again next season
You obviously missed the first half at Everton and the Man City game I expect by 'harrying tactics' you mean tackling and closing down when you don't have the ball ........ you should try it. BTW, I thought Altidore's reaction to both goals was quality.
Okay then we haven't looked that bad since one half of a game and one against a team that are unquestionably better than us, that better? I mean doing it higher up the pitch, it's a tactic that can work some games but can fail in other, you wouldn't do that against liverpool like would ya. Couldn't see Altidore's reaction through the tears.
Being totally honest I can only remember seeing Newcastle threatening from free kicks and corners. Having said that I've only seen the match live but just putting on the recording now.
Yeh i'm trying to remember it through all the alcohol but i'd say that's a fair asessment. In the first half their was a stat about us having 5 shots and you having 3, couldn't for the life of me remember any of ours and assumed they were all misplaced crosses.
Cabaye had 2 saved, iirc, but Westwood would've been crucified if either had gone in. Just watching the match now and honestly didn't realise how wet and windy it was, perhaps it wasn't too bad under the circumstances.
Neither keeper had that much to do, only difference is yours had to pick the ball out of the net twice
I agree Smug, he looked pretty ****ed off at being subbed as well. Cabaye hitting & hoping from all angles does not a chance make, and does point to his own lack of faith in the sides forwards!
