They were very lucky because we were clueless in front of goal tonight. Maybe we are keeping our plays secret for next week
Was it it another case of "not tonight Josephine" for old Bony? Maybe he's been told about Waterlooville.........
Dont go for stats but this one stuck out Possession. Swansea 67% West Ham 33% Shots. Swansea 10 West ham 15 (5 on target for each) You must be playing neat triangles in your half. We both seem to be going into next week without a cutting edge
He was a sub tonight. Getting ready to unleash him next week, if our wingers learn to cross the ball in time
I have to say, tonight was the first that I have ever seen a team play 6-4-0 For most of the game West Ham had a backline of 6 , with 4 in front of them, I feel so bad for their fans if that is what they get. Although they were good on the counter. We were unlucky not to score, we had a bullet header that hit the keeper, he knew nothing about it, but it didn't go in, and a very very good reaction save to a shot from Bony. But still until our wingers learn to cross, we will never see the true potential of Bony. I am hoping Pablo starts against you next week, if so, we may get a glimpse, he is the only creative winger we have right now.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
was there , you go to yours ?....................................................................................no thought not ............;O)
Actually, I enjoyed watching the game, and I don't think West Ham supporters would feel let down. a 4-6-0 has been used in South America and Spain quite a lot and can be quite attacking. I thought West Ham looked like they wanted a result just as much as Swansea until the last 15 minutes to be fair.
Building up nicely for your derby - have to agree with points made by some posters on the art of crossing ... seems to have become a lost one ... when I was a lad and my old man fisrt took me down to Filbert Street we had a left winger named Lenny Glover - he'd regularly go past his full back and with his wand of a left foot curl the ball in for Andy Lockhead / or Frank Worthington to despatch in the back of the net ... might be nostalgia but felt like over 90% of the crosses were on the money (we also had two full backs who were also adept at crossing, David Nish and Peter Rodriguez) .. ... these days we've got Lloyd Dyer, who similarly can beat his man at will ... before crossing to (presumably) one of his mates behind the goal
A stat from the Daily Snail: - Ashley Williams made the most passes in the Prem at the weekend - 94, accurate with 84 of them. Not surprised as most were back to Vorm or his full backs.
Fosse - you got Peter Rodrigues from us sometime in the mid/late 60's. I can just remember him in his last season with us before you bought him. I WAS very young at the time...... He was an ace at the slide tackle and very very quick. He could outpace many a winger and put him into the hoardings with ease.
...went on to win an FA Cup with Southampton (beat Man Utd in '76) ... he was a terrific exponent of the slide tackle as you say.
