Weren't the players supposed to be hurting for this game?

Toda was utterly grim viewing and the only positive I have is that I traded out of my Newcastle Relegation Position (I went in heavy before the season started laying the relegation hoping for a good start) the other day as Newcastle were 11/1 to get relegated and now they're down to 8/1.

They were in a position today to beat Sunderland though a draw would have been acceptable before the game and they were certainly in a position to beat Hull at home and to do better at NewMaine Road in the opener. I really think that this season is going to get a lot worse and it won't change until Ashley leaves.

I am utterly cheesed off at these people who earn more in a week than a good proportion of the spectators do in a year and that they simply couldn't be arsed to get stuck in. I can take ineptitude but I can't take lack of commitment to each other.

He was so annoyed with his favourite manager Pards, that he topped himself.

Pardew is, was and always will be a bottom feeder. A yes man with no mind of his own. He is a jobs for the boys bastard and we will fester like an open wound under him this season. If he can't inspire in a Derby especially after last time what ****ing good is he? **** the adulterous ****er.

Just where the hell was the team that played so well against Liverpool. The perpetual inconsistency would drive you to insanity

It It wouldn't surprise me in the least if we beat City on weds. Let's be be honest, this was do or die for Sunderland and they, erm, 'did'. We were superior for long periods even with just 10 men (Cisse is an abomination).

The first goal was a foul, and Pardew got it wrong bringing on Cisse. Should have gone with Shola and Remy if 442 was his preference. Personally I would have preferred us not to overreact at the start and persevere with our starting tactics.

All the knee jerking is pointless. We weren't outplayed just wrong place wrong time.

    Suck it up pal.

The majority of supporters have been very graceful in defeat. We are both poor teams and there's no denying it. Sunderland will be in a relegation battle all season, IMHO and the odds are still against us. You should be fine BUT lose Remy and being left with Shola and Cisse up front, would concern me greatly.

Lets hope both teams stay up and long live the derby <ok>

Nah more fed up with inconsistent weak willed players.

Santon today first half was ridiculous. Scared stiff. I was ashamed he was in B&W. Sissoko I can't even think of a word to describe him. Cisse was Cisse as he is these days. HBA a complete and utter joke. Gouf bottled it which I didn't expect. Should have got the hook long before he did. Pardew was pretty average, the players were terrible.

I can. At half time I mused "oh, he was playing, was he?"

The only question mark I still have is whether OUR manager is struggling to get the best out of them, or whether ANY manager would struggle.

Where Pardew did get it wrong was picking the same formation as vs. Liverpool then changing it 10 minutes in. The result was Sissoko left midfield, which he's not, a completely new strikeforce in Remy (left inside forward) and HBA (no.10/RWF), and Gouffran (LWF) over on the right wing. It was a complete fck up and left us with a lot of round poo's in square toilets.

His only "plan b" should have arrived at half time, when he had a chance to then sit everyone down and work out what was best. Then we could have taken out Sissoko for Anita, brought on Shola (well, it was the mackems) for Gouffran and had Remy/HBA left and right of a target man. It looked patently obvious but he fcked it up right at the start.

To be fair I thought the change of formation was necessary and got us into the game. I don't think anyone will inspire anything different. They are what they are. You have to be adaptable now and be willing to switch formations (Gus Poyet did). I'm happy with the way he has set us up this season, we have identity formation wise. We have largely played one way. What Pardew can do is show a bit more bravery and sack off certain players, punish them and stop waiting for them to turn it round. Ignore the fans clamour for HBA, drop Sissoko. drop Santon and forget Cisse. I understand why he doesn't because he hasn't got a great squad and the other options are not inspiring. However you have to find the best way to get the best out of them and tough love is needed. It probably won't work with them but he has to try. In Anita he has a much better player than Sissoko so that is inexcusable. He must forget those initial games from Sissoko and hoping he reappears.

I was at work til 10.30 last night and started at 9.30am (yes, illegal, but let's move on), so fortunately I didn't witness the car wreck. I'm sorry but I'm disgusted by the apathetic responses I've just read on here. The blame isn't on you guys, by the way, but the people responsible for making us feel like this sort of **** is standard. Sorry, but it's a ****ing disgrace. The only reason Pardew still has a job today is because the alternative is likely worse... And why's that? Because Ashley continues to pisstake and us gullible idiots think we're doing something worthy giving him out money.

Stop going guys. Please, for the good of the club.

Congrats mackems everywhere, your play hasn't merited a 1pt return and it was only a matter of time before a win. Great goal to win it as well I believe.

Also, I've read much bullshit about it being mostly various player's fault... Nope, it isn't. I had to make do with reading live commentaries, and it was obvious from that Pards got it wrong. Changing to match-up to your opponent shows little tactical nous beyond trying to create a stalemate, and the subs were an utter joke.

He's done better this year, with extra prep time between games, but there's no excuse whatsoever for another poor performance against a team Poyet's had two weeks with (yeah, two weeks and our manager of years decides to swap to their system?!?!?).
