ONE dangerous ball in 90 minutes doesn't begin to cut it for me, never. In fact, it's disgraceful. Far from bleating about how woeful Bony is (as some people unbelievably are), I'm guessing that he's sorry he ever came here. For a so-called footballing team, our chance creation is absolutely pathetic. Just take a look at the stats KDA has provided. With only 33% of the play, West Ham managed to create 15 shots to our 10. That is an astounding condemnation of the sheer ineptitude of our entire midfield.

Also, how some posters have had a go at Pablo beggars belief. Sure he's had some poor games (along with the rest of them) but he's far and away the most tricky and creative player we have. When he came on, I always felt that we might get something from the game and I hope Laudrup starts him as first choice from now on in, with the other two fighting it out to stay off the bench. Sure, a lot of the stuff Pablo tries doesn't come off but that's because he's always looking for the killer pass or trying to do something different or inventive to break down defences.

In my book, teams have worked us out and we are nothing like as effective as we used to be. Our passing has become sloppy and the Swanselona tag is fast becoming a bigger joke by the week (sorry to our swanselona ). German teams have found the way to combat tikka-takka by combining good passing with solid technique, pace, athleticism and a hard-pressing game. Premier League teams are copying them and becoming more effective at dealing with it. As our players are nothing like as good as those in the top TT teams, we are finding it difficult to combat this and push on as a team.

Ramsey at Arsenal is pointing the way. He never lost his skill but he did lose his way after his injury. His form this year has been superb and I've heard more than one commentator observe that this is down to the fact that he muscled up and got really fit in the close season. This means that he is quicker, has more stamina and is a damned sight harder to knock off the ball than in previous seasons. The example is there. The question is, does our club have the nous to make our players do the same?

Disagree about Vasquez not hitting that cross, for a start he used his wrong foot, if he opened up his body he would have at least got something on it IMO , what is the point of him trying to use his right foot on that ball from Dyer ? he should have also attacked the sace after holding his run instead of running square on .

Early days for him in fairness but to me he does nothing that a youth team player could be doing for us ,donnely has scored goals and is still scoring goals so why not give him a chance also ? is alvaro that much more superior ?

Its the Itay situation all over again for me,only this time one of the youngsters is missing out instead of Luke moore or DG .

I'm sorry but, with all due respect, I regard this as complete and utter garbage. So much so, I won't even waste my time in replying to it.

If anyone thinks that bony is worth £12 million then that is their choice, i happen to believe after watching him in action that he is not worth the money we paid and by the way that laudrup uses him considering he is our highest priced player then it looks as if he is not to happy either...He cannot play our style of football and that doesn't make him a bad player it just he is not for us..

I agree Ivor, but the one time he does get a decent ball in nobodies their to bury it. So far for me, I can only think of two games where we have played really well, Valencia & West Brom.

I am trying to get some positives out of that match but I am struggling. We didn't lose. We climbed two positions in the table. Ash is back. Normally I would settle for that. but the harsh reality is that Big Sam outmanouvered Sir Mike.

When I saw the West Ham 4-6-0 formation I thought it was going to be a sterile game, but fair play to the Hammers they get the ball into the box at every opportunity (as Sam's teams always do) and our goal led a charmed life, especially in the first half with Vorm flapping on several occasions.

Our substitutions helped and Bony had a great opportunity but was denied by a world class save by Jaaskaleinen. But as in previous matches we were playing down the middle with Hollywood flicks which merely gift possession back to the opposition. More clinical/controlled passing in the final third is required and our wing play, which has been destroyed under ML, needs to be rejuvenated to give Bony the service he needs.

The only other positive I can find is that we are not the first to be "West Hammered" this season. A look at their five away fixtures shows we are in good company:

    Swans 0 West Ham 0
    Spurs 0 West Ham 3
    Hull 1 West Ham 0
    Southampton 0 West Ham 0
    Newcastle 0 West Ham 0

Onwards and upwards. Next Match: Kairdiff City (A) <yikes>

that is one positive from the game, the other results went our way. Apart from that then no improvement in the way we play at home....changes need to be made in the way we approach the game and its about time donnelly was more involved as he cant do any worst even if he played a bit part player..
