I don't think they're bad refs, they've just got a difficult job made much worse by the complete lack of action from those above them. We're all celebrating this 125 years thing and how good old Cobb Morley from 'Ull sorted out some proper rules yet here we are 125 years later and it needs doing again. It's ****ing glaringly obvious. No one knows the rules of football. Fans, managers and refs alike are just guessing half the time.

He's not usually bad to be fair.

One of the better referees in the country.

The thing is, they make one mistake and people jump on their backs. He probably was very good for the rest of the game but is being scrutinised (rightly) for one bad decision.

You'd have to be pretty mental to want to be a ref.

    Stop talking sense.

Only irrational comments made in the heat of the moment allowed.

Maybe we should practice kicking the ball into the arms of players when on the edge of the box in training, not sure whether we would get the call though. Maybe a reserve team player could stand there with his hands slightly off his side and see if we could hit it bit like crossbar challenge :)

This is the point Bruce was making. Defenders and attackers can do nothing about these penalties so they are just randomly affecting games completely undeservedly.

Oh Mr King's Jewels. I do look forward to welcoming LCFC into the premiership next season then discussing all the dodgy/iffy and frankly idiotic decisions that will come your way. 70% of them against you. You wait and see.

This is not the answer. British refs should ref abroad and foreign refs take charge here. That is the only way things would be impartial. Maybe have a European Central Referring Union who then allocate refs around the continent for the top level divisions.

BTW.Didn't Spurs get a very similar decision at Palarse earlier in the season.. On the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK on 22/11/13 this could take over as a new Conspiracy theory. Have the reffs put their pension fund pot on Spurs winning the title.!!

Maybe the future is no armed fullbacks.

I just think any penalty decision given for these close range handballs are really harsh. Even if the arm is held out. Has a team really earned a near certain goal for such a thing?

In my opinion, only the most blatant of handballs should be punished. But even then there will still be contentious decisions. It's a tough one.

Sorry Sir Ben, it just had to be done.

You also missed your full stop at the end of your second sentence in the quoted post.

I think on the whole it does in the Football League, but, as we discovered when we were last in the Premier League, it certainly isn't true in the Prem.

Are you addressing this post to Steve Bruce?

No, i'm talking about some of the comments the fans made.

Some seemed to have got carried away.

I don't think Brucey has helped himself with his comments neither.

I stand in the corner, head bowed in shame.

Edit: I got a CSE Grade 4, in English Language, in 1983.

I've said this before, but Steve Bruce is PAINFULLY honest. If he says we are being hard done to, he is right. If he says we don't play well (Villa) he's also right. It's that honesty (whether in his favour or against him) that he is respected for.

He could well get in trouble for it.

Back to the fans comments, I just dislike constant whinging and self pitty.

Harking back to past incidents & trying to come up with reasons why we were hard done by, just doesn't sit right with me. Same with blaming the pitch etc. You're making excuses for losing. You should concentrate on putting the mistakes you made right.

City hardly made any mistakes today, but we can't dwell on the penalty. We need to move on.

I also dislike the "little ol Hull City" card. That wasn't in the ref's decision process, he just got it wrong. Simple as. We need to snap out of that.

You really need to be careful when you go pulling people up for their literacy. You're making a rod for your own back there.

There should be a question mark at the end of your comment.

Should that have a question mark at the end & not a full stop?
