Laudrup needs to sort this mess. We have been clueless in front of goal for a while now barring the Sunderland game (although we were crap for 60mins against them too). No creativity and service to our strikers whatsoever and our ability to keep the ball (something we are known for) is becoming pathetic.

And Cardiff drop a place... silver linings ;)

And... if we finish 9th I'll be happy for one.

The irony is that when ML took over from Brendan last season he said there is no point in having the majority of possession if you don't do anything with it but this is what is happening with us.

Have to agree. I'm no great pundit by any means but it seems to me like where we used to pass the ball from the back and through midfield whilst keeping possession we now just keep it in front of goal.

Sorry but whilst Routs and Dyer cannot organise a piss up in a brewery between them, then we will always struggle,.

There is no suprise we looked much better when Pablo came on, as he is willing to attempt the defence splitting pass whislt Routs and Dyer pull up and do the short stupid pass.

Why is it that Dyer and Routs are too bloody afraid to run at defenders this season, I mean neither are that skillful, and rely on beating their defender, Dyer more than Routs, but whenever Dyer gets it, he just don't run, he seems to wanna try and play likes routs, the skillful type, which he is not.

I thought Vasquez was ok, didn't get much service, reckon he would have been better suited with Pablo and Shelvey on the pitch from the off. Can certainly see where he fits in with us.

But come January, if Routs and Dyer haven't bucked up their ideas, then bring someone in, cos we cannot keep relying on **** wingers that havent got a clue how to pass the ball, cross the ball, or beat the ****ing defender with pace.

Hopefully Pablo plays the whole 90 next week, as he looked the best player on the pitch for the limited time he was on.

Him on the left, Poz on the right, and make sure that Dyer and Routs know they need to sort it out, because their inability to do anything is costing us. I mean Downing is ****, yet he was the best winger on the pitch, well him and their other winger, cos ors were utter ****e.

Hopefully Hernandez will beef up our options because these last few weeks I've found routs and dyers' delivery to be piss poor (worse than usual).
Centre mid for me is a bit of a problem also. If shelvey had the same eye for a short defence splitting pass along the floor as he does for a long pass then we would be landed. But for me he is far too keen to see how far and accurate he can hit it. Especially when people like Michu and bony are looking for the quick ball through.
I feel it will come soon, it's just a matter I time before all these new players properly gel. Next Sunday would be a perfect time to start!

    Exactly.

Vasquez is the sort of player to play on the last man. Bring him on when the opposition needs to press, IMO. Saying that, any player would benefit from better service into the box!

Indeed. Perhaps the effect of the Europa League campaign is not tiredness but the continuous changes in line-ups are disruptive.

It's still not a bad start to the season all thing considered. Had a fair few injuries as well.

Pablo looked decent when he came on considering his lay-off and one bit of magic on the bye-line deserved better. Bony looked up for it as well, put in some good defensive work and was unlucky to see the keeper make a great save from his snap shot. Using Alvaro just didn't work and Bony should have started. It was his sort of game and we needed his muscle and aerial power to break down the West Ham bus in a crowded penalty area.

If we wanted more guile and movement, it might have been worthwhile giving Poz 15 minutes at the end in place of Dyer giving him a bit of a rest before next week. On that subject, I have no confidence at all about the game. Cardiff will give us more of the same but with home advantage. They thrive on set pieces and we are pretty bad at defending them. Vorm gives me no confidence on the high ball and I bet Malky would have been licking his lips at his performance today. Without question, I would drop him and play Tremmel with his greater height and physicality. It's not so enticing challenging him in the air as it is Vorm. It would also remind Vorm that there is a credible alternative waiting to grab his spot. No bad thing.

What I really fear, though, is the high through ball down the middle. We are rubbish at defending them and Cardiff are expert at playing them. We will have to up our game by 20% to cope with it and make sure that we retain possession to cut down the number of times they will try this strategy - and try it they will.

Lots more to say about our overall game but I'll be back with some pretty scathing observations.

no clue up front that seems to be the trend at home this season, Both our new strikers have been disappointing and not worth the money we spent by a big margin, Bony looks out of his depth with the type of football we play and would do better elsewhere, He just dont fit in at all and is more of an hindrance to michu's game than not. For £12 million then he is not showing to be worth it and i think we will try and offload him at the end of the season. If Michu is the find of the season at £2 million then bony must be the biggest waste of money. He has had long enough now at swansea and if he was going to gel with michu then he would have done it by now. Two points dropped yet again at home..

Based on what I seen tonight, my formation for the next game would be

    --------------Vorm----------------
    Rangel---Chico-----Ash -----Taylor
    ---------JDG-------Shelvey--------
    Pozuelo-------Michu-----Hernandez
    ---------------Bony---------------

You may ask why I chose Vorm, but for me, against a counter attacking team like Cardiff, I would prefer Vorm's agility over Tremmel's command. And based on my want of a more offensive starting 11 as above, would leave us open for counter, but more potent going forward against a team, I reckon will sit back and defend against us.

Plus that team is the most creative team I think we have based on our midfield set up.

All I can say is thank god your not the manager, how can we criticise bony, he gets no service. I mean in a team that provides very little at the moment (as we are not firing on all cylinders) he has done ok in my books. Not great, but then when our two recent main stay wingers can't cross, or thread a ball, he doesn't stand much of a chance does he. I mean even Michu is not scoring, or getting anywhere near scoring. That there tells you something. Its not our strikers fault, if Michu isn't scoring either is it.

Personally I'd play Dyer instead of Pozuelo as he links up better with Rangel, Poz tends to wander into the middle and get in people's way.

Based on tonight, I think we would be better off with Poz, Dyer for all his huff and puff, did absolutely nothing apart from win us 1, maybe 2 corners from his poorly attempted crossing. He didn't create 1 scoring opportunity, which for a winger, is criminal.

Dyer put a decent ball right into the danger area that Vasquez never got on the end of.

to say bony gets no service every week is just an excuse and its run its course now as its proven whenever he plays he is crap. he if he was able to should have gelled with michu by now and there is no sign of it happening, Sell him at the end of the season and use the money on two strikers who can actually play our style as bony definately cant and its costing us points at home.

I was thinking the same thing, no right minded Swan fan can blame Bony. A striker who we knew before hand was prolific with his head, yet has not had any decent crosses.

And yes Valley I give you that one, wasn't Vasquez's fault he didn't get on the end of it, was just unlucky, as if he was further forward at the time Dyer hit the ball, he would have been offside. But 1 decent cross all game, and even then, that wasn't an in the air cross to which Bony is going to be useful for us.
