Yes, it was all about the tyres for Lewis at the end. Still, it was disappointing and, as for Alonso and Kimi today, another illustration of why Vettel and Red Bull are so far ahead.
Vettel certainly outclassed the other world champions today. I wouldn't say Ham/Alo/Rai maximised their machinery at all this weekend.
You can put the four in any order in my opinion(and mine would be Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel Raikkonen), but Hamilton is not a distance of Kimi and the other 2, that's pretty harsh.
Well done Mr Vettel. And well done to the FIA for stamping down on these shows of celebration ...............
What was he thinking showing genuine emotion before the official FIA protocols and ceremonies have taken place?
Clearly he wasn't thinking... Throw the sporting regs hardback edition at him! How dare he celebrate!
The question we have to answer is whether or not he gained an advantage by doing so. Now my theory is that he knows India will be back on the calender in 2015 and he already has a good idea of where the Red-Bull will be that year courtesy of Adrian Newey giving him a heads up. And so he is already laying rubber down on the 4 postions he is most likely to qualify on thereby allowing for a good start off the grid for the 2015 Indian GP. As he should have been in Parc Ferme at the time, then yes, the penalty is fair and just.
Due to a busy weekend, I only just got around to seeing the entire race. Well done Vettel. Quality drive and fantastic celebration. That's how a champion should celebrate. That will go down in F1 history. The season has been dull, but nobody can take that away from Vettel. Oh... and Rocky pissed me off quite a lot at the end of that. What was that all about?
does anybody else think it very strange that Horner seriously anticipated a safety car........around the same time Webber retired from the race....maybe webber was expected to park the car somewhere daft to bring out a safety car.......just seems odd how horner really thought there would be a safety car
The last thing a team with a 20 second lead want is a safety car to appear and bunch up the field behind them. It was just common sense, if they changed to the mediums on the 2nd stint and there had been a safety car then Webber would've been at a disadvantage as everyone else would've got a free pit stop and he'd still need to stop to change to the softs.
