Harry had a good record in the north London derbies, he made us more competitive in a fixture we had struggled in, not to mention we had a decent record against Chelsea after they used to call white Hart lane 3 point Lane so let's not try and overlook Redknapp as a manager.

Redknapp was also better at making changes in a game, also we equalled the club record for clean sheets so again you can't overlook what Redknapp done and say his way wasn't successful just for not winning a trophy.

For many finishing top four is harder then winning a cup and by that logic Redknapp was successful.

    Hi Boss,

Don't get me wrong I am not a Harry hater or anything, but I was comparing his record at all levels for all clubs, not just his few years with us.

His improvements in the areas you suggested were brilliant, and our year in the CL was great. But trophies are trophies, and Rednknapp does not win many.

If we win the Europa league I will be very happy, probably happier than if we finish top 4.

Ok SG, read the tone of your post wrong, was probably due to ''Ppl can pine for Redknapp' 'Lol.... But just for the record I don't think someone is a Harry hater just because they view certain aspects differently.

A trophy is long overdue, we definitely need to win some silverware.

Well today was no better than usual.

Lucky 1-0 win with a dodgy penalty.

It's amazing in its way that we have, I think 13 wins, 1 draw and two losses, and the fans are up in arms.

Another 1-0 win with a penalty, thats three now isnt it?
Not WUMMING, and the penalty was stone wall, just saying, Spurs need to start learning how to score from open play.
At home to minnows you will be awarded those penalties all day long, but away at OT or Anfield, that wont happen.

Your build up play needs that killer ball, which it currently isnt getting. You need an AM like the Lampard of 5 years ago, or Modric.....

"but away at OT or Anfield, that wont happen."

We rarely get bus parking done to us away in the PL.
That is why AVB had the joint best away record last season and second
    most goals scored.

But that happens to every team in the top 5/6. Even United came to us last season in an FA Cup replay and more or less put every man behind the ball. Have to learn to adapt at this level.

You're actually being less critical of us than we've been, Bodanki. I hope we'll get better as the players get to know each other better. I do think we're lumping together two problems that aren't really connected: everyone's troubles against the parked bus, and our generally uninspiring play.

"But that happens to every team in the top 5/6."

Again, teams in the top 5/6 RARELY come to WHL and park the bus.
By definition because they are top 5/6 they are comfortable in their
own play and therefore don't have to do so.

The trouble is that teams know that they don't just have the chance to avoid a battering if they park the bus against us, they probably actually have a better chance of taking all 3 points if they park the bus and hit us on the counter. What should be a last resort mechanism that is only effective to draw games is actually the best winning tactic against us at home, unless you're a really high quality team who can come and have a proper go obviously.

    Hi Boss,

My comment was aimed at certain posters that just want to add negative comments about AVB, or Harry did this and Harry did that - Though i'm not going to name names.

King, Modric and VdV leaving, Sandro, Kaboul and Adebayor not being available. Not sure Harry would have done better

We'll never know if Harry could've done better or not with all the changes. The problem for me though is that Harry didn't do enough wrong to warrant being sacked in the first place and so this debate should never have existed, in my opinion Harry should have still been Spurs manager to this day.

He had 3 and a half years as Spurs manager. In his half year he took us from bottom to 8th. 1st full year got us 4th. 2nd year 5th and 3rd year 4th but Chelsea (<grr>) just had to win the ****ing Champions League didn't they?!

For a good 85% of his tenure, I was very happy with how he performed. Sure we had some **** days and bad losses but in general, it was just a joy to watch our Spurs side. Hopefully AVB can bring that joy back, we've certainly got the players to do it in my opinion.

Just seen a tweet from THFC 6061's twitter.

Spurs have had more attempts at goal than any other premier league team this season - 117.
But... We've only converted 7.7% of them.

What does it say about us though?!

I can't remember a huge number of clear it chances from inside the box, so it can only mean the shots are coming from distance. - which are obviously harder to convert.
3 of those 9 premier league goals have been penalties, too. <yikes>

Stats tell you want you want to see, no offence to anyone but if someone bases their view on stats then you're either desperately trying to view positive from a poor performance or you're not actually watching the game and forming your own opinion.

I'm not basing my view on it. I'm trying to work out what kind of attempts the 117 are.

From WATCHING THE GAMES I'm not seeing many clear cut chances in the box.

All I can think of is that about 70 of the 117 attempts come from andros having a strike from 25 yards! <laugh>

LOL... wasn't implying you was buddy, just in general for people who try and defend a manager or team on stats.

There was a good stat from the Swansea West Ham game, Swansea at one point had 62percent possession and 1 shot on goal.

West Ham had 38 possession and 11 shots on goal.

Who's the better team? No one scored, one played crap direct football, the other played a passing game without getting anywhere.
