My view on the team name only.

    Hull City: yes
    Hull City AFC: yes
Hull City Tigers:no but I would still support the team fully.
Hull Tigers: I'm off, so no!

I think there is a silent indifferent majority who would go along with Hull City Tigers Afc if Mr Allam is prepared to forget about dropping City AFC and OLM should consider having a fall back position. If Mr Allam wants Tigers in the club name then any group adopting a no compromise approach may cause Mr Allam to go the whole hog and switch to Hull Tigers.

I agree with this. The "City" part of the name is (and always has been) important, differentiating us from the eggchasers. I feel its part of our identity

I don't give a toss about the company name

Am happy with OLM representing this board

I've 'known' OLM on this board and the old BBC 606 for years & he has my endorsement as I share the same views. Since I live abroad, it's nice to feel my views are being represented. Best of luck!

First off: I'm a long time lurker, rarely a contributor... but I am a season ticket holder (West Stand Upper - crap atmosphere but hell of a view), and I can hear Burnsey commentating and see his replay TV for contentious decisions.

OLM, I would just like to put my opinion forward. I whole heartedly agree with the above poster except I wouldn't stop supporting whatever - I'd just be embarrassed. Also, someone mentioned that many wouldn't protest out of respect for what the Allams have done, this includes me. I respect what they've done for our club and our city.

As a fall back, please consider asking him how much money we expect to make with a name change. Could there be a clause where if we do not reach a baseline target, we can convert our name back? As the whole reason is financial, from what I gather.

Good luck and thanks for asking for our opinions.

All comments have been taken on board, thanks, I'll try to bear them all in mind.

The meeting is not until Friday, so feel free to keep posting your thoughts.

We have a prime objective, we have some fall back positions, but there is not really much room for manoeuvre when your objective is no name change at all.

We still hope, that at the end of the day, common sense will prevail.

I haven't looked through this thread, so sorry if it has been mentioned, but will there be any talk of Melton at this meeting?

    Sorry Heisenberg, I missed this.

The reason I feel that the CTWD only represent a minority view is because of the low numbers in every available poll. The majority view would seem to be the one alluded to by Strov and many others myself included. An overwhelming majority of City fans I speak to on match day and in my personal life tell me that they do not wish for the name to be changed but totally accept that our great benefactor Mr Allam has the right to run his business the way he sees fit and would not wish to campaign against him in any way. Many of these people tell me he is the best owner the mighty tigers have ever had and would not wish to partake in a process that may force him to consider his position regarding the ownership of the football club.

The polls, FB group, twitter feed etc have all stagnated and there is no evidence coming from these sources that momentum for the campaign is being gained, despite a couple of thousand quid being chucked at it by well meaning people.

The campaign group would tell you they are not anti-Allam but this is nonsense, if you are not prepared to respect the fact that Mr Allam is the club owner and these decisions are his alone to make then you are anti-Allam.

It would seem to come down to this, who should decide company policy in respect of Hull City football club? the owner of the club? or should it be a bunch of stuck in the eighties fanzinista ****wits who are unwilling or unable to embrace modern football and the direction it is taking.

Every single person has the right to withdraw their support for the business that is Hull City football club if they so wish and on that basis anyone that does not like modern football and feels unable to support the owner and his business decisions should consider if the time has come for them to find another interest or hobby.

What else ya gonna do on a satday?

I think you need to change some of the people you associate with.

We're back to the simple logic of 'If a man pulls your struggling daughter out of the canal, is that OK with you if he rapes her?'

Haven't posted for a couple of weeks now - been real busy - including a week in Cairns (far north Queensland), but far worse places to be for a conference.

Best of luck OLM. I hope a position that makes most (if not all) happy, can be reached.

8.00 pm here in Melbourne. I'm off to bed so I can be up at 3.00 am for the match.

Funny thing is, that's more or less Dr A's position too without the bolded bits ofc. Not a great basis for a discussion is it really, especially when Dr A holds all the cards.

Honest response pls OLM, do you actually think you'll achieve anything in this meeting?

A ridiculous analogy. If you are comfortable with comparing rape with rebranding, then it's a shame you are not going along to the meeting instead of OLM, as there is zero chance you would be taken seriously.

For the record OLM, Hull City Tigers would be a good compromise.

We get to keep City. No-one used AFC prior to this. And BBC won't even refer to the Tigers bit.

In fact if you look on their website, they don't even refer to City. It's Hull v Tottenham.

Who ever meets the Allams it would be impossible to speak for Everyone.

The majority on here are behind OLM so he gets my vote even though my view isnt the same.

    Good luck OLM

We ALL LOVE THE CLUB and we shouldnt slag each otber off for having different views

Life is good because we can have different views over everything in this country.

So why stop at Hull Tigers? Why not move the club to a bigger area like Sheffield and call it Sheffield Tigers, that you be a sound business tactic. Would you still support the team?

AFC is part of our name although almost never used except in legislation or financial documents. It's silly to want to lose it.

Every football club in the country is an AFC or FC.
