The style of play is much better (which I have said a few times), I'm far more positive about the team (and Hughton himself) than I ever was last season even when we had the good run.

Its not narrower however when the final balls are coming in.

We score plenty of goals, he comes in and we barely score any, we sign new players specifically to score goals and we still can't do it. 3 new strikers, a new winger, central midfielder and NONE of them are getting even close to scoring or being given the chances on a regular basis.

We will not get many easier games than today.

I am trying SO hard to avoid that 'slap-head' smiley.

How some people can't see how much we have improved our play this season is beyond me. Positive play will lead to positive results, I'm convinced of it.

Welly is an arse though, you got that right at least. <laugh>

As J-P Sartre said,'In football everything is complicated by the presence of the opposing team'. Cardiff came to defend en masse and steal an away point. They seemed to have 11 men behind the ball for much of the match, and Marshall, predictably played a blinder. I don't thing we did anything wrong either tactically or performance-wise; everyone had a good game, and I could see the point of putting the tall Elmander and pacey Redmond on at the end. I'm very much still in the 'everything will come right' camp; but god it was frustrating!

My thoughts. Players gave it a good go, especially first half and we should have been up a couple of goals by half time against poor opposition. Malkay obviously saw a need for change and did so effectively as we looked devoid of how to break them down the more the game went on( Hull again?).Yes we had a lot of long range shots but not much in the box. Did not understand the substitutions IMO. I would have took off Tettey and dropped Howson back and brought Wolf on to partner Hooper and Redmond on for Snodgrass. Wolf got 5 minutes, so what was the point? Also if he is not fit he should not be on the bench.

On the way home was listening to the Saints game and was interested in the commentary about their second goal. Lambert flicks on for his strike partner Rodriguez. Simple game really.

Something has to change soon. More and more comments coming through stating it will all come good but it isn't. Bringing in all that alleged strike talent and we are still not scoring.

Like I say, I thought the players did well today and I could not fault their efforts but there is no plan B. We could have played to Christmas and would not have scored as we do not have the tactical nous to beat teams at the moment.Cardiff changed system but we ( Hughton) did nothing to counter when it was obvious nothing was happening to break them down. Players turn to managers for that and I am seeing no evidence that they are getting the direction or inspiration to change anything.

Giving it a go and getting a pat on the back for effort is all well and good but sitting in the relegation zone still isn't. I really thought we would have moved on this season but already it is looking painfully clear we are going to have a season long struggle if changes do not come soon.

    Couldn't disagree more.

We could have scored several times during this game alone - oh fs, frankly? I can't even be doing talking to negative people like you.

Enjoy the extra hour's sleep, come back refreshed and positive. Just don't work for me. <ok>

6 wins this calendar year, 2 of those against teams who were on the beach at the end of last season and we can't buy a goal let alone a win. We are a debt free PL club, managers from around the world will be desperate to get this job. Hughton has proved time and time again that he has no ideas, no plan b as such, his subs continue to amaze me. I couldnt care less if he is a nice guy, he just isnt a PL quality manager and he will take us down where other more capable managers would have this squad comfortably clear. Wield the axe now while we still have plenty of time. Hughton out.

<ok> First para noted -- by everyone I hope!

Second part of third para is simply false. Yesterday Hooper, Snodgrass, Pilkington, Fer, Howson all had chances in good positions in the box, not to mention Russ Martin's clear header which he put over but should have scored. Fer's brilliant volley blocked by Whittingham on the line, Hooper's header which so nearly made the top corner, the ball Marshall deflected so nearly reached by Pilkington, the double save from Hooper/Howson -- and there were more.

The main problem yesterday IMO was that more composure was needed; the players are too anxious. They need full-on support, not boos and criticism. <ok>

I think Robbie you've got that the wrong way around fella !
Carabah is spot on, as is surgery mans assessment, it's time you positive lot pulled your heads out of the sand and smell the coffee ! There's going to be some huge amounts of humble pie consumed soon because my friend things aren't about to get better any time soon under CH !
I was open mouthed at his subs yesterday as were most people around me, he's becoming more clueless by the game.
Nothing at man city next week followed by a nervy game against the Hammers and that's a quarter of the season gone and with our run in omg that's 6 out of the final quarter that look potentially pointless, that doesn't leave much more time to wait for these up turned performances to start yielding wins !!

This is the bit I was saying was false:

NONE of them getting close to scoring? Yesterday? Are they beginning to create chances on a more regular basis? Yes. Is everything working? No. Is continued optimism justified? Yes.

And in case anybody bothers to look at the table, we are in a group of six to eight clubs separated by no more than 2 points and occupying places 11 to 18. There are clearly a lot of clueless managers in the Premier League. <ok>

Gandy , you are demonstrating the type of response that has caused many members to leave, Weaver, Carra Rud, political, ILD, I could go on.

You disagree with me , that is fine you are entitled to your opinion but then you have to add an unnecessary comment at the end. Moderators take note!

Just say you disagree and give your view. Leave personal stuff out.

And for the record I think exactly the same this morning.

Yes it does but I thought debate was what forums were about rather than taking easy options like that.

Like I say, I have no problem with others points of views . We all want the same for our club but have differing views on various issues, to be debated. Quite happy to be persuaded away from my opinion by well constructed, logical responses.

Lots of stats flying around - but these are the ugly ones: #ncfc's last 30 @premierleague games - six wins, 28 goals, 27 points.

Well Mr McNally it's time to earn that big salary of yours, either come out and give the manager your full backing publicly or bring down that axe.

The fact is we have been in relegation form since last December, if anyone cant see that they need to get their head out of the sand. For our PL status he has to go now.
