I think that he is at the top of the target list. However, his appointment will come at the expense of Steve Bruce. I cannot imagine SB staying with the Duffen style in the transfer market. Where do you look to find an MD for a football club? The PL has bigger demands on the individual executive officers than in the Championship. However in Paul Duffen, we would have someone who clearly relishes the long hours spent in the limelight.
time will tell TWF - but we need Bruce as manager for the next few seasons to give us a stable base on which the next manager can build on. anyone know what the qualities a MD in the PL needs and where do other clubs get their MDs from?

It's all bullshit. No way would he be appointed as a lever against the fans. He should not be appointed, but if he is, the supporters will trundle on. Steve Bruce is a different man to Phil Brown and will have no bother sorting a no-mark like Duffen. If he is appointed and that would not surprise me in the slightest, it will be because Duffen wlll be a Muppet of a puppet, with Allams arm so far up his arse he'll squeak with subservient homilies. I suppose we are approaching pantomime season; this meeting group needs to be strong.
Good post from Al on CI... only really realised today we are top team in yorkshire. mostly because every other coont is ****e. dont go getting all big headed fellow city fans. no one takes us seriously. just like WE didnt when the "just like brazil " watching barnsley fans and the bratfud city fans were rubbing shoulders with the top larkers. its a freak. a one off. sheff utd/wednesday/ leeds united and even middlesboro were top flight for decades (or so you would think), and we are just having our 15 mins of fame. (again.) making up the numbers. dunno if its part of being a city fan but i dont enjoy the top dog status, i much preferred waking up and looking in the papers and hating sheff utd/grimsby with all my heart. i almost enjoyed us being **** and hating everyone else. today i watched barnsley v sheff wed and sat there willing each team to score. no hatred, nothing. the only team i hate now is stoke and that is only a murmur after not playing them for so long so hopefully summat will happen to ramp it up a bit. football is all too nicey nicey at the moment. too wrapped up in cotton wool, contented smile on my face, even when we lose i can fall back on "well we didnt disgrace ourselves..." i cant hate anyone for beating us nowadays. its all gone... sterile? as for duffen coming back? well he certainly wont be driving gallardos hired by the club will he? or paying over the odds for players so the agents fees get bumped up... i reckon its partly to shove two fingers up to ap? just like throwing loads of money at steve bruce was 2 fingers up to nick barmby, as in "now then nick,.try telling people i didnt offer you any funds after what weve just given brucey?" everything seems to have an ulterior motive. and a shoving of two fingers up to someone. surely we all know the dropping of city from our name isnt to increase our saleability in the far east but two fingers to people a lot closer? duffen spent money we didnt have. he spent money bartlett didnt have. it was our money. pissed it all away living the high life. at the end of the day bartlett fooked off no major damage. as did bartlett and brown. meanwhile our club was on its knees and if it wasnt for papa (no doubt shoving two fingers up to someone or other) we would have been dead. would duffen bartlett or brown have cared? no. so **** em.
