supporting a club don't mean you need to shut up when a player play like sh!t .. not sure what plastic fans had to do with that? booing players when playing bad exist even in lower leagues ..
being 100% supportive of players who are dragging your club in to the **** isn't real support, it's pure, blind spastication. It depends on so many things, who is being booed, why you are booing them etc
How bad was Nani? The general feeling elsewhere is that those who booed him are an embarrassment to the club and that without him we would of only drawn today. The flip side is that he didnt track back ( still unsure why he, an attacking winger would have to, no big side on earth has such players doing it ) so is of course at fault for both Stoke goals.
Booing players DURING a match is never a good thing...at full time do what you want...but during a match and at half time? rarely happens outside the prem ...and never occured until the last 10 yrs or so when football grounds became invaded by the plastic twats...
Some dickheads in the United crowd used to boo Giggs. even now when he can be 100 times worse that Ashley Young on occasion he doesnt get booed. Match going fans nowadays are fickle , clueless idiots.
If a player gives his all for the shirt then thats good. If players of the calibre United have are losing at home to West Brom and scraping wins against Stoke City at home, then something is wrong. Either the manager or players are not doing their job properly. So of course the paying public are going to get upset.
Nani wasted too many chances with stupid long shots when we had more options upfront and at the only time he had good chance to shot and score he shoot it high.. he misplaced many of his passes too but he had v good cross for the first goal .. probably the only good thing he did in the match
I agree it is never a good thing , but can understand why the fans want to give their players their own version of hairdryer treatment, sometimes players need to get this treatment when playing really bad agree too that it happens far more in PL
3 months ago they lifted the league championship trophy...now they boo cos it aint all going well so far...after 8 matches. If the paying public were paying less then normal fans would 1)be able to go to more matches so seeing a few poor performances wouldnt be so bad as theyd be able to come back more regularly 2)not be so ****ed off that they have paid a small fortune and seen a poor performance from multi millionaire players 3) most of the real supporters understand that after 27 years with the same manager winning **** loads that a change in manager deserves some patience
How about this, United were **** before half time, they got booed and came back to win. Maybe the booing was a motivation to win.
I booed nani! I 'm not a plastic either! Been going since early 80's and seen some right dross in that time! But, nani took the piss today. Self indulgent shooting from hopeless positions and giving ball away all the time. He's just pocketed a five year contract for mediocre pre-season and we are supposed to be patient with a player who has been there long enough to know today was not good enough. Want to support the team so still paying to turn up as I've done for decades, but reserve the right to boo and heckle a waste of space leeching money!
I'm willing to bet your life that he wasnt the worst player on the pitch today, he wasnt the worst player in a United shirt this season and hes not the worst ever. However Nani is a scapegoat who unfortunately gets the flack from some of the clubs less intelligent fans. Theres always one just as theres always players who are immune from criticism no matter how bad they play. Ive now seen the first half ( was at work earlier ) and Nani wasnt close to being the worst player on the pitch. Cleverley, RvP, Kagawa and every one of our defenders were as bad ( being kind ). As always he got about, was involved and at least ****ing tried to make something happen ( even if it was silly shots at goal from 7 miles out ). Bar Rooney and De gea, nobody was that good, all 5's and 6's out 10 except Smalling and cleverley who off that first half were about minus a ****ing billion.
