Just my opinion, but I've observed that the posts here of late have seemed few and far between with little debate and fewer contributions than usual. Perhaps it's a reflection in the football of late too. With the exception of the Middlesbrough match, there have been few 'jump out of the seat' moments. Is it fair to say that both this board and the football of late have both become a bit prosaic?
Good observation. Maybe its because the circus is over. Maybe because we are quicker to moan and criticise. The football we have been playing has been effective but not joyous in the way when we got promoted.
I keep logging on to see little or no new posts to comment on, maybe I should start a few myself. On the game today it was like watching rangers of old so many miss placed passes it was unreal. The most noticeable thing that's always pissed me off, is that when we had the ball we were pressed and given no time on the ball, but they seemed to have all the time they wanted.
This quote sums up our last couple of games:- Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies after 3-1 loss at Yeovil Town "In the Championship the blue sky doesn't exist every weekend, there are dark clouds and there will be difficult days ahead with ups and downs, bumps and bruises."

Spot on, I'm loving that one. As for the football/QPR stuff, yes its a little slow, but thats what you get out of the transfer window when you are doing well but not ripping up trees.
Dare I say it. I think Cerny's absence, is much like Taarabt's. And what's more, opinions on both, divide this board.
To be honest i feel our football this season has flattered to deceive I have now watched us draw win and lose but i have yet to see us actually play well. We have been lucky up to now but ive not enjoyed the experience Today exemplified my match day of late; a nightmare journey there and back, jobsworth stewards at turf moor, another below average pie ( i went to the kiosk below the stand at the 43 minute mark to avoid the queue. Pleasingly there wasn't one but they had already 'run out' of the peppered steak and hotdogs - very poor - so had to settle for a meat & potato which was predominantly potato) and worst of all watching a team of reputed top draw players show no appetite and an inability to string 2 passes together. That o'neil lad & henry can do one for my money highlights were (in no particular order) - Seeing Dave Thomas at half time ekotto looking our best player Getting home Not much else to say really I'm going to Wigan - it won't be pretty
Crikey - just goes to show how watching on a stream gives a vastly different viewpoint From my comfy chair, all I could see was Ekotto constantly giving the ball away - looked far too casual Hoilett similarly looked very poor - especially woeful first touch. Still - on the upside... Erm... um... well...
I think there are a few reasons that might explain your observations Sku. Here's mine. When we switched over to here from the old BBC 606 in the spring/summer of 2011 it was following our promotion to the Prem, exciting times. Not606 also gave us something we never had at the beeb. On this new site we could post 24/7, swear and our posts weren't moderated so heavily. We were like kids in a sweet shop. For many of us posting on a football forum was relatively new. It was for me anyway. This opened up a new world to me. I could now discuss with like minded individuals something that has always been important to me, QPR. This conjured up many great threads in which we discussed favourite QPR managers, goals, players, games and grounds among the other great topics that appeared on our threads. There was even a thread in which our posters revealed a bit about themselves ( Kiwi's 'So what are you lot like' thread? ) which bonded us as a band of brothers even more. But after a couple of years we've all been there and seen, it done it. It's a bit like when you buy a new car, the novelty wears off but it remains functional and still does its job. That's why its good to recruit new posters who can inject a bit of new energy and impetus to the board. We did have a couple come on last month and gave a different slant on goings on ( Can't remember their names ) but they were given short shrift for some reason and decided that this place wasn't for them. As for the football side of things, I think we're still shell shocked and hungover from our time in the Prem and as such we haven't yet got the team or level of performance from them yet that our faithful deserve. The Boro game was our only real performance that I've seen this season. I'm not unhappy, I'm just in a state of indifference about our team at the moment. I hope that changes soon. At present I'm pleased that the players are showing a modicum of effort. Today being the exception though.
There should be absolutely no excuses if we are unable to match Wigan for effort, since they played last Thurs in Europa League action, today (Sun) at Charlton, then us on Wed - so 3 games in a week for them. Heaven forbid if we had that type of schedule.
Just plain old sku as ever, I'm afraid. In my opinion there's no chance of a return for my old mucker CernyBerny / Secret Squirrel. A shame as he brought great balance, contrast and humour to the board (plus a few horse tips - not that I backed that many of them). I'd love to see a return, but QPR999's decision has to be respected. If you're still out there in Watford, CernyBerny / Secret Squirrel, I hope your still online reading the forum. No doubt a reincarnation will recur sometime in the future.
Shocked at that verdict: he repeatedly kicked the ball into touch. My vote would be Hill. Solid as a rock, yet again.
