Rules 1. At the start of the competition you will have a bank of £1,000 to bet as you like throughout the meeting on any of the televised races (including BBCi) 2. You may only bet with money remaining in the bank 3. You may lay each others' bets but the offer must be clearly stated in this thread and the offer must be accepted in this thread. Thanks Ron, Just one suggestion. I don't think it will be such a good idea to have best available odds / antepost. The problem is going to be difficult to verify everyone's quoted prices especially from a obsure/unknown bookmaker offering x or y odds. I think it's best settled at SP. I'm not sure about the laying either... Upto you Ron.
I ran a challenge with Mick on 606 using available odds and ante post and it worked fine. Just put the bookmaker and the odds. I'll list out the Bookmakers that can be used, for clarification. I think we are all trustworthy enough to quote available odds. The laying is a new idea that I haven't seen in any other comp so I thought it would be worth a try. Not many will use it but it gives a chance to those with totally differing views on a horse to "put their money where their mouth is" so to speak. I want it to be as flexible as possible and to provide the option to take an early price. Maybe I'll refine the available odds to "this option is only available until mid day on the day of the race". Can't go quite as far as effectively looking round for the best price just before the off; maybe that's what you were concerned about, in which case I agree. I'll update the Rules tonight to take account of any other comments also.
I'll challenge for that wooden spoon again (they say Ron carved it himself from a bigger spoon) Thanks
