Wahey!! Phil Thompson just said on Soccer Saturday, in defence of Crystal Palace's lackadaisical play against Fulham: "Not everyone can play a high pressing game like your Munichs, your Dortmunds, and your Southamptons."
Merse just said on sky referring to Palace's lacklustre 2nd half display against Fulham "Not everyone presses the ball with the intensity of the Barcelonas, the bayerns, the Dortmunds, the Southampton's" Those Pompey boys are turning
Whoever said it, they haven't said anything brave now. Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher let the proverbial cat out of the bag last Monday night, and now it's OK to heap praise on Saints. The only pundit who apparently hasn't seen, heard or read any of these comments appears to be Lawro.
Certainly agree about how Fulham are likely to set up against us and rely on our inability to break down sides in the final third and then hit us on the break. Can see this having only one goal in it; hopefully 2-1 or 1-0, but suspect it could be a low scoring draw. What we need is an early goal to loosen then up and make to try to take the game to us. If that happens; I can see us winning 2-0.
Shame about the weather for the kids fun day. Has happened before...perhaps they should have picked a game earlier in the season.
Steven Davis and Dani Osvaldo missing out through injury, as expected. James Ward-Prowse and Rickie Lambert to come in. Boruc; Clyne, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw; Wanyama, Schneiderlin; Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Rodriguez; Lambert.
I like this line up, Rickie back in charge up front and delighted for JWP. Come on son take your chance!
Dani Osvaldo missing out through injury as expected? I know he took a knock but am I missing something? It didn't look that serious and I haven't heard anything to suggest he is unavailable.
